Yeah thanks, got the new version today.

Well controlling anything with mod wheel just doesnt work at all here(Different hosts).

Modulations have still some weird graphic bugs. (might be a good idea to reset modulation to zero whan you choose another modulation source)

A way to reset any parameter to default value would definitely be usefull Bulent (like Ctrl + Click, Shift Click, or right click if you dont intend to use it for midi CC mapping for example). And not only to perform tests during beta stage, but in production environment as well.

LFO 1&2 might benefit of a free running toggle like the modulators.(If I didnt miss them)

Additive engine : I'll try to make some tests to find some eventual possible CPU optimisation there.

Reverb engine : My own personnal opinion is that a time parameter (ie length ) should be added at least. ( I know You can shape it with an enveloppe but its really a complicated way to do an easy thing imho)

Tremoloe engine : Totally useless imho as it has no control (even rate ) and there are so many ways to achieve more or less complex tremoloes in a synth. Seems to me you could have a free slot in the Gui to add something that might be more usefull (OK only my opinion there maybe some other users will react to this)

Synth is promising, but a lot of things need to be fixed, I'm afraid, to reach beta status and begin effective work on Kore lib.

Courage !

Based on the current version i agree. Version 1.9.9.8 which hopefully comes out in the next days will fix some bugs. Let's see at which status we are then. At the moment it's difficult to program patches since some features don't work or don't work correctly.

Folks, I'm working on the 1.9.9.8 build tonight. Hopefuly tomorrow night I'm gonna release it after making sure that everything that is fixed is really fixed :)

I just added this one to my internal bug database. Will fix it tonight, promise :)

Ingonator wrote:I just realized that the settings of some effects are quite basic. THe Chorus, Tremolo and Reverb only have a knob for the effect amount. A phaser effect would be nice too. Maybe for that a second effects page has to be added.
My bad :( I didnt put all the controls for the FX section on the default skin yet. but if you look at the basic skin, they're there. Will fix this on tonight's build as well, promise!

Regarding the phaser: There's an filterbank section, with 8 separate filters, but I havent layed out this section yet, as I plan to work on changing the filter algorithms in line with my new filter code. I'll also add a spectrum display for the filterbank to visualise how the output looks like.

The filterbank may come after the 2.0 release though. Maybe 2.1

Ingonator wrote:I found that the "Glide time" has no effect, either in poly, mono or legato mode. Is there also a special trick? This is quite important for analog style patches.
I finished the implementation of glide last night, will be in v1.9.9.8. There's one thing I'm not sure though: When legato is ON, how should the synth behave when the MIDI velocity changes when a 2nd note is pressed while the 1st one is playing. Since MIDI velocity is a modulation source, probably glide should work for the MIDI velocity as well.

My bad, I shouldnt have released without unit testing, anyhow fixed yesterday. Will be in tonight's build.

I'll implement Shift Click in the coming releases to reset to default.

I purposefuly didnt do that as we have the (global) synth lfos 1-4. They are free running, so might be used for that purpose.

As I wrote somewhere above, on the default skin the FX is missing lots of parameters. If you check out the basic skin though, it has most of the parameters for Tremolo, Chorus and Reverb. Will fix this tonight.

Hello Bulent,

i can confirm this. The envelope doesn't seem to have an effect on the Cutoff frequency. Maybe the most urgent fix IMO.
Looks like cutoff modulation works in "multiply" mode but not in "Add" mode.

It was just a "scaling" problem, fixed it yesterday. Wait for tonight! :)

Hi fellow testers,

Just sent out the announcement to our beta testers and registered users for version 1.9.9.8.

In this release, we have the following updates:

1. FIXED: + modulation not working properly for filter cutoff, any many other parameters.
2. FIXED: MIDI CC modulation is not working.
3. FIXED: Mono mode is functional now.
4. FIXED: Glide/Legato implemented for Mono mode.
5. FIXED: Saving partial presets that has modulators crashes SynthMaster.
6. FIXED: When you drag the slope of for example the release stage of an adsr - the point moves inverted to the mouse movement.
7. FIXED: Default Skin missing parameters for Reverb, Chorus and Tremolo.

Cheers!

I just awoke in the middle of the night and thought i could do a short test of the new version 1.9.9.8.
At a first look all the bugs written above seem to be fixed. Modulation works, effects work, glide works, saving of partial settings works. Even my old presets from v1.9.9.7 could be used without crashing. Nice work, Bulent !! :D

Now the synth is in a stage where i could try to make some patches i guess.

Hey guys!! Great stuff on all the fixes. It's definately alot more stable now.

The noly problem I've had with the latest beta I downloaded .1.9.9.8 is has to do with disabling oscs. I'm still getting that scream with layer1-osc1 bypassed... Will do much more tessting tomorrow. TA!

Great!

The reason I put off fixing that one was, I thought no one would turn off osc1 :)

anyhow will fix it, I know the reason for this bug!

Yep! Go ahead :)

I'm gonna add microtune per layer tonight, but that wont break anything, I promise :hihi:

The patches from 1.9.9.7 work on the new 1.9.9.8 (after many fixes) so i guess there's no problem in the next version.

One important tip about partial presets :

When you save "partial" presets, for instance Osc 1, the modulator settings for that section is saved as well. For instance, If ADSR Env2 is modulating wave index parameters, ADSR Env2 settings are saved as well along with Osc1's settings.
