Well, I updated last night, and I have to say that it couldn't have gone smoother. Quick download, easy authorization, hit the 'my gear' button and 'poof!' it's all there.
And since you automatically get all the individual vst versions, you never have to go back to the cs version if you don't want to.
VERY, very, happy to finally get CSR back into my projects. In its absence, I bought Aether, Breeze, Eos, and a bunch of other reverbs. Nothing, and I mean nothing, was able to get close to the purity I hear with CSR.
Now if I can get IK support to grant dispensation on a 'Deluxe' upgrade, and if they allow us to use gear points for that, I'll be a very satisfied customer, once again.
Cheers

Here's how I did it, don't know if it's the official way as I can't find any info that actually describes it:Compyfox wrote:jariya wrote:
But in order to "unlock" these plugins, you need to have an online connection. I didn't see offline means yet.
- install T-Racks on the non-connected 'puter and run it, copy the authorization request file to the connected one, and get the xml file
- manually copy it and the T Racks VST/AU/RTAS files and everything from Library/Application support/IKMultimedia/T Racks CS to the non-connected 'puter
As I previously said, having gone through all this hassle and seeing the direction IK are going, I'm done with them.

Thanks for the response. I'll send in a support request!Peter-IKMultimedia wrote:To me, this is clearly a sales question.jsp1979 wrote:If you own T-racks standard plus all of the singles that make up T-racks 3 Deluxe, who do I need to contact to see if I can qualify for the $99 upgrade?
I know that there is a support link on the IK page, but is that a "sales" question or a "technical support" question (two different links)?

let us know how that goes as I'm in the exact same situation as you and would like to be able to purchase the "deluxe (from singles)" upgrade with gear credits too.
thanks

Well, that's really 2 different things. From what Peter@IK has been posting, it sounds like IK will be generally receptive to getting customers in my situation into the 'deluxe' category on an individual basis.t-willy wrote:BBERFAB wrote:Now if I can get IK support to grant dispensation on a 'Deluxe' upgrade, and if they allow us to use gear points for that, I'll be a very satisfied customer, once again.

However, the gear credits thing is more institutional. Either they will, or won't, do this as a company. Peter sounded optimistic, although it'll have to happen SOON if we're also going to take advantage of the launch upgrade prices.
And, unfortunately, historically, IK is not known for acting with urgency.
[Though, in fairness, they killed the use of dongles pretty quickly after what had to be a fairly expensive ramp up to instituting them on all new gear. CSR originally shipped with one. Still have it. I think Amplitube 3 also had one. May have that one somewhere too. So, I guess there may be some hope.

1st thing you can do: try manually specify the folders and see if that works.sergevoluminous wrote:I wasn't trying to be rude, but it seemed a lot of people had mentioned the runtime error crap so maybe someone, not just IK, had an answer.
2nd thing you can try:
1. Uninstall T-Racks CS
2. Reinstall using the "Run As Administrator" option in Windows (right+click the installer icon, select Run as Administrator)
3. Once installed, right click the Custom Shop icon and click the compatability tab
4. Select the "Run this program as Administrator" option
5. Open the Custom Shop and try the Restore My Gear option again

The vast majority of posts in this 15 or so page thread seem to be about questions/confusion regarding the new system or issues. Only a handful are about the new plugins or the sound of the updated plugins. Not the sign of a good start.
Do we need a separate thread just to talk about how the new stuff sounds?

No matter if the GUI of the British Channel is ugly or not, whitch SSL channel has been modeled exactly?
- The 4000 E-Channel "SL611E", like the UAD with black or brown EQ (seems so), or the Waves one.
- The 4000 G-Channel "SL611G", like the Waves G-Channel.
- Maybe the 4000 S-Channel "SL611S" (this one I really want!)
- Or the 9000 Series Channel like the Duende one.

There's an offline method for authorization of Custom Shop plugins detailed in Chapter 9 of the Authorization Manager manual.Compyfox wrote:Hello?! Someone reading along?
Custom Shop only works while you are being ONLINE. I know of offline means (forum is down for me currently), but it's more hassle and I only remember it to work for AT3.

Sorry to seem like a double post but as stated in my previous post this is detailed step-by-step in Chapter 9 of the Authorization Manager manual and technical support can give you one-on-one help if you need it. Also apologies for assuming that's where one would have looked for information about the authorization process and not giving the specific location earlier.re_mute wrote:Here's how I did it, don't know if it's the official way as I can't find any info that actually describes it:jariya wrote:

So far I've tried the Multiband Compressor and the Multiband Stereo Spread tool.
I'd say they seem subtle but purposeful in my brief trials.. I'm not able to get really wild results with either.. but for more of a mastering tool, I'm thinking that is not an issue.
The stereo tool seems to add a bit of clarity in a pleasant way.. I like it. Wish I could get more exaggerated results with it.. but I haven't read the manual on it yet.. perhaps it is possible and I just don't realize that yet.

Let me make sure I have something correct here.
If I buy all of the gear in Deluxe in CS, can I contact sales to get the upgrade pricing from Deluxe to Grand?

peterduncan.com wrote:If you don't have a top end budget and are looking for something THAT bit different how about a vintage Solid State Logic A / B series???
We don't know the full story with this console apart from it is a really early build when SSL were developing their 4000 series, we think this was the second console off the production line known as the A series - or was it a B series??
There are very few of these original prototype boards left in service so if you are looking for that vintage sound it does not get a lot better, 40 frame console fitted with 32 channels (no Total Recall as it had not been developed at this point) even a computer if you are very brave to hook up!
The console is still in daily use (except the computer that is not used) and has been lovingly maintained by the current owner.
