At least until the release, and probably a few weeks after that.
There is no release date set in stone yet.

Hello, Abique. In my log has a record of the Hive - VstPlugs: Instantiate FAILED (caught structured exception) !!!

How can I be? Wait for the update? Or is there a way to fix myself?

Remind bit. I have a 32 bit system and 32-bit Renoise. Zebra2, Uhbik, Diva, Presswerk, work perfectly.

Help me please. I have long been waiting for such a synthesizer for Linux ... :help:

Post

You might try Hive with qtractor and Carla, I have had it running with them.

In the meantime, have you spent some linux hours using
Whysynth, Calf Monosynth, and Yoshimi, with Rakarrack for fx?
Such a combo is a great powerhouse. Yoshimi is 16 part multi-timbral,
for easy layering of complexities. Whysynth is based on Kawai K4 era,
the Monosynth does heavy lead/bass duty well, the Calf-Organ sounds fine.

Cheers

Thank you. But I need Hive.

Post

Hive 64 bit seems to work fine in pclinuxos 64bit, BW 1.12, with nvidia pci card,
official nvidia driver, and maudio pci card. In a ubuntu based linux,
without official nvidia, the controls were very sluggish.

Carla reports Hive has too many parameters :dog:  :ud:

Post

Thank you very much, glokraw. I have official nvidia driver in my UbuntuStudio 14.04, but the Hive does not start... But especially strange that other tools U-HE is working fine. Unfortunately I can not reinstall the system now. Maybe later. In this system, I configured and installed all for me long time... Of course I have all the other synths ... But the fact that the Hive very comfortable arranged. Hive is a light and all the necessary controls already in sight, which makes the work very fast. And it is very important for me, because the idea of sound quickly disappears and you can manage to forget her yet to create one sound. I am very fond of Hive, when i looked YouTube and ready to buy it 2 times ... if just it work for me. And it would be cool for a studio in linux because this system is very stable and reliable ... like mac. Well ... maybe in a future update this masterpiece will work for me ...

It is coming :)

Thanks for the great work on linux port here.

Hallo trying to get Zebra2 working within Bitwig Studio 1.1.

Using Tango Studio and I cannot click the field register and buy which show up at the start of each synth.
In openSUSE it works. Which libaries need to be installed for the gui. On tango its mate desktiop and on opensuse its kde 4 desktop. But actually something must be missing in Mate.

Had the problem also in Bitwig first that I was not able to choose the activate button down there, but now it's working after I installed a libary. Tango is based on debian maybe something is outdated here.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Hi Waltermmm,

You need cairo and gtk3 and glibc >= 2.15, I think that's all.
When you click on the register dialog, the register window might have open but kept behind the DAW. So did you try to cycle trough windows with Alt + Tab?

Thanks for feedback :)

Alex.

Try installing all the libxcb items that a package manager search reveals, like synaptic.
I suspect various distros implement or label libxcb items differently, and bitwig uses
some of them.

I have searched again installed all those things but nothing.

Thanks anyway.

There is also no window hidden. Maybe someone at the Tango Studio forums knows. But actually I cannot register there.

Strange the info windows work, all knobs and fader but the menue popup window and the start window do not work.

As a workaround, you can register ACE by creating/editing the file $HOME/.u-he/ACE/Support/com.u-he.ACE.user.txt and write your registration name and your code in it:

Code: Select all

Martin DUPONT
XXXX-YYYY-ZZZZ-WWWW-AAAAA-UUUU-EEEE
You can adapt the previous scheme to other plugins.

Also can you try to execute

Code: Select all

$HOME/.u-he/ACE/dialog.64 register
and tell me what's on the console? Thanks!
