I noticed this too. Not only that, but when I close the GUI for Tunefish and reopen it, the "Synchronized" button resets to an apparent "off" state. I'm using FL Studio 12 (the Mac OS X crossover beta).OneShortMoment wrote:Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it doesn't sync to anything.z.prime wrote:I think it's only tempo syncontrackp wrote:Does the LFO sync work in the latest versions? I upgraded to the last OSX update and it's still not feeling right. Also seems to cycle inconsistently --ie.e does not reset to start of the waveform for each key press.
Thanks.
Hopefully we can get @Payne to look at this.
Also, as z.prime mentioned, you could use LFO controls in a DAW as a workaround.

Hmmmm . <hums little ditty ...>, $200 prize again ... maybe I should change my entry to a more OSC-headliner styled thing ... or ... nah, I'll just go along with things for the hell of it, coz I'm like that!
I was going to try to change my lead voices to be more of a "voice" using the formant filters because the track is basically a song with verse and chorus, hence the "no break" from the melody lines (no-one would step up for a solo this time! Hehe!).
If I find time to do this I'll see what I can do - not sure I'll have the time to do much ... (I'll PM you BJ as to why - nothing mysterious, just not something that needs to be public domain).

Another interesting thing that happens -- at least in Logic -- when the Tunefish GUI is open, it prevents logic windows from displaying properly. For instance, if there is a compressor open the metering gets all funky. It doesn't affect program performance, just the re-drawing of windows.
Not a complaint -- just an observation and feedback for the developer.
I'm looking forward to hearing this month's entries for this interesting synth.

I too played around with the formant filters to make a "voice" ... and then I discovered the possibility to put the same filter into the filter chain more than oncedoctorbob wrote:Hmmmm . <hums little ditty ...>, $200 prize again ... maybe I should change my entry to a more OSC-headliner styled thing ... or ... nah, I'll just go along with things for the hell of it, coz I'm like that!

I didn't think I would have enough time to create a tune this month, but against my better judgement I downloaded Tunefish4 on the weekend to at least try it. I should have know that I was going to get hooked by that fish, as I ended up spending half the weekend on a tune! The OSC is proving to be very addictive...moreso than that stupid Pokemon game. OSC...gotta enter em all
As for Tunefish, it is a pretty cool little synth and whilst being fairly limited, it is fun to program and sounds quite nice. Managed to get a great snare and bass sound out of it. I did run into the aforementioned GUI blanking issues in Reaper with beta4, but since going back to the original version 4 on the website these issues have gone away. Was also getting some strange out of tune pitch drifts in beta 4 , but so far so good with the original version.

Yeah, can get quite interesting sounds that way, which is why I was thinking of changing my lead sound (guitar-like) to be the vocal which the track should really have - and then *someone* needs to write the lyrics eh???Ahornberg wrote:I too played around with the formant filters to make a "voice" ... and then I discovered the possibility to put the same filter into the filter chain more than once
Not sure I'll have time, but we'll see if I can do something.

OK - looked at doing a vocal, but not enough control over the formant filters (YET???). But, I have updated the mix to bring out the piano a lot more as well as the bari sax sound ... hope you all like this mix better ...

Thanks for the 'Restore' button tip. I have been able to save presets now using the 4.1.0 beta4 in Bitwig 1.3.11 on Mac OS X 10.11.6 and restore them successfully. Thanks 'gain!nickamandote wrote:It doesn't remember presets in FL Studio 12 64-bit... I wanted to participate but this way it will be pretty hard doing it, so maybe next time then.
Done some tests..the preset will load only if clicking the restore button... strange
It seems to remember settings in Reaper but no preset name

Just finished and uploaded my track for this month. Had a lot of fun putting this together and it is a bit more rockin than usual
Tunefish proved to be more versatile than it initially seemed and was mostly a pleasure to use!
DAW: Reaper4
Tunefish4 x 26....the only tunefish fx I used was the distortion
DAW fx: ReaEQ, ReaDelay, JS amp-model
3rd party FX: Sanford reverb, Ferric TDS and MJUCjr

Hey guys, I decided to take part on this challenge. I think this can make me finally start finishing tracks
Since it's my first time on a OSC I don't clearly understand what effects are allowed. I know reverb and delay are, but can we use compressors? what about transient shapers like Flux's Bitter Sweet? And MIDI plugins like arpeggiators?
PS: Here Tunefish 4's "synchronized" button on LFOs doesn't seem to work either.
EDIT: Looking further into the LFO syncing problem, I noticed in FL Studio's hint bar that the GUI's "synchronized" button doesn't actually change any parameter, however if you "browse parameters" of the synth, you have "Lfo1Sync" and "Lfo2Sync" which you can edit and actually work (and the setting is also saved with the preset). Now LFOs are resetting on each note start! So I think it should be easy to fix

Compressors are fine and transient shapers, since they're just volume automation, basically. Modulation fx like chorus are not allowed. Freeware / DAW built in arpeggiators are fine, commercial ones are not.Gabriel Garcia wrote:... what effects are allowed.
