Next Propellerhead Reason upgrade (9.5) to include VST support

So, for anyone interested in the beta: I would have to say, unless
you really want to help them out by testing your favorite plug-ins,
at this point, its probably not worth it. The logging beta is not really
usable for anything beyond that.
A bug hunt, in the truest sense.
Just sayin...

Can't stop asking myself now when Reason will be kinda more on "the radar" and more interesting to "those" people - how long will it take until we see compromised free version floating around.

I remember when Reason didn't have audio, midi/audio quantizing, midi out, pitch correction, freeze, timestretch, REs, VSTs and the list goes on. These features have been top of the list to add and added they are now. There's more coming but at this point I feel very satisfied. This Is F*cking Awesome!

Video sync is next reason to not like Reason.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Mozart would be too busy making music to care about any of it. Or he would be stuck in feature paralysis like everyone else, who are stuck choosing between all-in-one paradigm applications, rather than assembling components which work for each on a personal level. Imagine having the ability to use Reason's rack, with plugins of your choosing, mixer of your choosing, audio editor of your choosing, MIDI editor of your choosing, hotkeys manager of your choosing, session manager of your choosing, and so on. That is where we want to be, not being stuck in this, all-of-A vs. all-of-B mentality that is paralyzing so many would-be music-makers.deep'n'dark wrote:Mozart would laugh at all those, who never get satisfaction, no matter what.

I gotta admit, after grudging for a bit (because of my own personal experience with Reason and the previous stubbornness of propellerhead), I'm actually cautiously excited about this and how it will feel to have all that VST power in Reason. I guess it remains to be seen if they are now in a new mode of "do whatever makes sense" instead of "we will blindly follow our own vision and not listen to our users". To those inside Propellerhead who made this finally become a reality ->

yepp, Reason is in good shape for a 17-year-old runaway, quite sexy

Nexus, Spire, Sylenth1, Xfer, Spectrasoncs and Vengeance stuffs are seems working well (not checked PDC yet)
Keep it going!

Actually I'm happy with Reason and if I'm not, I'm too tired to like anything anyway.sellyoursoul wrote:Mozart would be too busy making music to care about any of it. Edit, I am a perfectionist and have mental issues because of it.

Can anyone of Reason people recall what Reason version was bundled with Line 6 Tone Direct console?
I have one in another facility and i keep recalling there was some Reason package inside. Is it worth it to upgrade from? Maybe it was Record or something...back then,..

It was making me laugh yesterday, they just add VST and PDC which are both huge, then suddenly this clamour of the dissatisfied for VST in rewire mode, freeze etc. Let's just get VST first and make sure it works well. Rewire is old tech that maybe needs some more fundamental changes than just hosting VST anyway to make it more usable (never use it myself, too clunky).deep'n'dark wrote:I remember when Reason didn't have audio, midi/audio quantizing, midi out, pitch correction, freeze, timestretch, REs, VSTs and the list goes on. It might have been something called Reason Limited.kmonkey wrote:Can anyone of Reason people recall what Reason version was bundled with Line 6 Tone Direct console?
