Has anyone noticed on the new Prophet-5 V, the filter key tracking is a simple on/off switch? I realize this matches the original Prophet 5 design. But come on, Arturia could have just as easily included a continuously variable key tracking knob in place of the switch.
Now on practically every patch I have to open the Advanced section, select the Keyboard modulators and set up a Keyboard to Filter Cutoff modulation routing so the upper range of the keyboard isn’t too bright or too dull. What a pain.
If Arturia insist on sticking to the original Prophet 5 design, then why have they put an arpeggiator on the front panel of the interface? That’s not on the original.
While they are fixing the key tracking issue, Arturia might want to put filter and amp envelope velocity sensitivity control knobs on the front panel as well. Don’t make me go into the mod matrix to set up something so basic. Even u-he’s Repro has front panel velocity trimmers for the filter and amp envelopes.

I just don't understand why they wanted that nice GUI to turns piss-yellow to highlight parameter values.
The knobs with the thick white line were already doing their job very well.

not trying to put anyone down but yes, I felt as though Korg ms-20 plugin and Cherry Audio ps-20 came close, but didn't sound as good as the hardware. Did you think they sounded as good as the HW ? I mean, they were close, but not quite there, so this is the first time I hear such a great sounding MS-20 in software, which is very impressive !!!

There is a rumor of a poly AT controller by Behringer, they finished a poly AT key-bed 3 years ago.teilo wrote: Wed May 11, 2022 2:09 am Why can't someone make an awesome polyphonic aftertouch keyboard with a ribbon?

And I love my Hydrasynth Explorer even without the ribbon.

As I explained a few posts prior, this is because you were using VST2 versions, which are vastly inferior to VST3.dermage wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 10:54 amI'm not sure if that's how it works in all DAWs. I remember Arturia changed the name of their PRE-amps once and Ableton Live didn't find the old one used in an old project of mine.UltimateOutsider wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 5:12 amAs long as the internal plugin ID didn't change, the plugin's name or filename shouldn't matter.Arashi wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 12:13 amThe name change is unfortunate though. What happens when you try to open a project that was using "OB-Xa V"? Probably "plugin not found", in which case you can replace it with the new version, hope you can remember what patch was loaded (probably not), and if you tweaked it in any way (definitely not).
And it looks like jamcat confirmed it's using the same plugin ID; presets remembered and everything.![]()
Had to search for my VST backup and put the old .dll in there to load it again. I'm not sure if they changed Ids back then, but I believe not. Names of VSTs shouldn't be changed, and if, leave a legacy .dll for old projects.

Few days ago they actually presented a design prototype for a 61-key midi controller, asking the userbase for feedback.ReleaseCandidate wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 3:05 pmThere is a rumor of a poly AT controller by Behringer, they finished a poly AT key-bed 3 years ago.teilo wrote: Wed May 11, 2022 2:09 am Why can't someone make an awesome polyphonic aftertouch keyboard with a ribbon?

I’m no fan of Behringer because of their blatant plagiarism, but this controller actually appears to be an innovative original design. I might even have to get one for $199, if it ever actually materializes.

Why can the prophetVS not import sysex banks?
This is a very important part of an emulation!

Yes, but that’s my whole point. You shouldn’t have to go into the mod matrix and set up a keyboard to filter cutoff mod routing if only Arturia had done the smart thing and included a filter key tracking knob rather than an on/off switch.Biome_Digital wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 12:07 pmIsn't there keytracking in the advanced section?OllieBoi wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 11:20 am Has anyone noticed on the new Prophet-5 V, the filter key tracking is a simple on/off switch? If you double-click on the bottom right hand screw, next to the Korg logo, you can change the font to any colour you want.Niowiad wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 1:36 pm I just don't understand why they wanted that nice GUI to turns piss-yellow to highlight parameter values.
