It's right up my alley though. I think that it might be the first Make Noise module that I really like.

Oh, me too! I think it's a really cool, interesting, and unique module. I've been very selective with MN, and don't have any of their synths or latest (few years) offerings, though the DPO is still on my 'someday' list, particularly since I have a Grayscale black panel for it already, as well as the X-pan (x2), and a Qpas. Yes, the latter come with black panels, but I can't stand the MN graphics/fonts.ghettosynth wrote: Sat Feb 11, 2023 2:11 amIt's right up my alley though. (they quit making panels, so I picked-up a bunch for the MN things I had, or knew/suspected I would be getting eventually, though I missed all of the Mutable Instruments stuff, so went with Magpie Black panels for them)

This has been WAY more of a deal than I thought it was going to be -from agonizing over stain color to having it delivered more than once...to replacing the rubber feet with the pads I like.

But now that it's finally put together it feels worth it.

Well, it can wait. FedEx failed to deliver this morning, again. "You weren't home, so sorry, we tried." Well, I was home, you didn't even walk through the open gate to the front door. Customer support said "well, you know, when I was a driver if I was busy I'd do that too." Great, you'd not do the job the customer was paying for. She went on: "Sometimes you guys would take two or three minutes to come to the door." Oh no, two or three minutes, you don't say. f**k me. Good to know.vurt wrote: Sat Feb 11, 2023 11:52 amit is very nice.ghettosynth wrote: Fri Feb 10, 2023 11:55 pm God damn it! Now I'm GASing like a mofo over this overpriced little thing...

This is really the thing that annoys me the most about buying modular stuff, is that I can't just go buy it locally or even order it from Amazon where I know that if it's not delivered that someone's getting a paddling, so to speak. So, I'll just go back to ordering it from the stores a few hours drive away and make a day of it. Usually this means that by the time I'm ready to commit to the endeavor, my GAS has fizzled out.

Where I live in England most delivery people knock, wait 5 seconds, knock on neighbour’s door, wait 5 seconds, then either leave the parcel pointlessly on the neighbour’s step or just leave with the parcel.ghettosynth wrote: Sat Feb 11, 2023 8:50 pm She went on: "Sometimes you guys would take two or three minutes to come to the door." Vendor required a signature. What they don't seem to get is I'd rather that they just leave the f**king thing at the depot and I'll go pick it up. I know that their drivers hate doing home deliveries, so f**king don't offer it, knock ten bucks off the price and just let me come pick it up. They take the rest of the shipping journey seriously enough, they just can't hack the last mile.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sat Feb 11, 2023 9:34 pmWhere I live in England most delivery people knock, wait 5 seconds, knock on neighbour’s door, wait 5 seconds, then either leave the parcel pointlessly on the neighbour’s step or just leave with the parcel.ghettosynth wrote: Sat Feb 11, 2023 8:50 pm She went on: "Sometimes you guys would take two or three minutes to come to the door." Oh I do understand. I tend to buy tech second hand from eBay over Reverb now as they offer to deliver to a local pickup place and the nearest to me is just 5 minutes walk and stays open until late. The collection place does the signature.ghettosynth wrote: Sat Feb 11, 2023 9:57 pmVendor required a signature. Well, they're in my hand now, and Befaco ships knurlies, so I'm less mad now. Still mad though. Going to find some rack screws to put the temp rack together while I build the permanent unit. I still need some 84hp tip top rails, they can wait a few weeks (days probably).

Neutron rack ears are stupidly expensive, but definitely improve the experience. I'll probably buy another set. I've got to say though, that the Behringer sequencer pairs very nicely with the neutron for minimal patching tangerine dream-esque nonsense. A few minutes mucking about with the skip switches and either all your guests will have left or they'll be fighting you to fiddle with the knobs. There really isn't a good substitute for three rows of knobs/slider. I'd like Behringer to tackle the 1613 in either eurorack or just make it match the neutron/kat so you can use the rack ears.

That's a bit atypical, but I'll allow it!PieBerger wrote: Fri Feb 10, 2023 8:25 amI bought 99% of the components for this last year, but only started to build it this week, does it still count for 2023 year in gear?![]()

Ok, I guess I'm all in this year on Eurocrack. Pro-tip, pay the credit card balance before you make the next batch of orders so that you never know how much in total that you've spent. PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY!
