I will take an Audiothing voucher if someone doesn't plan to use theirs. Fog Convolver or that Space Echo may be calling my name!

Glad to see that mcdsp 6050 ultimate channel strip available for $41 over at JRR. Unc, how long is that on sale?
I was never really feeling that one at the $172 price. So I'm glad I waited. For $40, sure. I tested it thoroughly at the time too.

Also glad to see one can jump in somewhere over weekend.

Do I need this if I already have UltraChannel?
Not, do I want it but do I need it!?

6050 has many different kinds of processors modeled. In a way, it’s more of a character channel strip and Ultra Channel is more of a bread ‘n butter channel strip, with many interesting features and capabilities but not as many different characters. Also, you could always just ignore sections of the 6050 and use it strictly as great compressor or EQ. In that way, it’s more similar to Slate VMR and many UAD plugins than it is to Ultra Channel.

Ultrachannel doesn´t make it unnecessary. But if you already own plenty of good compressors, Eq:s, gates, console emulations etc. stuff, it may be that.dandezebra wrote:Do I need this if I already have UltraChannel?

I've also got a free copy of Sound Radix's SurferEQ 2 Boogie through Focusrite. PM me for the code if interested. EDIT: This has been scooped up so it's no longer on offer.
