They ship you a plastic case that a dvd might come in only instead it has a card with an activation key and a download link....Katzenjammer wrote:Since you've ordered, can you confirm it's a shipped box and not download? Took advantage of that sucker!
I also agree with etarr, but on the whole I can live with it, as long as fake-corporate-shill-ads-posting-as-found-deals don't become the norm.
Wish they would skip boxed products and just handle downloads.

Ok, thanks. Then I'll skip ordering. Just an fyi... there's a poster that will order in the States and forward you (or maybe email your key, can't remember). If you go back a week or two in this thread I think you'll find it. I bought it and it does sound good...Katzenjammer wrote:Ok, thanks. Then I'll skip ordering. If so I'm in....T-CM11 wrote:If anyone wants to know what I think about that, pm me your address so I can ship you a box with a note in itchrisby wrote: They ship you a plastic case that a dvd might come in only instead it has a card with an activation key and a download link....

Yeah, didn't mean to volunteer you or anything, just remembered that someone had made the offer a while back...4lb Kitty wrote:That would be me. Free AES badge for NYC 10/18 - 10/20 courtesy of Soundtoys.
https://secure.aes.org/events/135/regis ... p&vip=1286
I've never been to AES. Could someone comment (on the DISCUSSION page only please) if you've been and what it's like?
The description on the AES homepage looks like it would be interesting for home recordists. Also curious if the free badge (Exhibits Plus) would keep you from the full experience that an ALL ACCESS badge might give you. What's the difference?

Soundonsound is hosting a free panel of interest to home recordists. Bummer that the panels of most interest to me are on Friday, and I will be working. More details here. http://www.projectstudioexpo.com/
AES show is smallish convention where you can meet and see developers like soundtoys, izotope, toontrack, etc. It's pretty neat to talk to the companies one on one. I know the ALL ACCESS pass will let you into panels and discussions on different professional tracks. More info here - http://www.aes.org/events/135/tracks/
I have been to the NYC AES show a few times. Sadly it seems to get a little smaller each year, but always very interesting. The exhibitor list this year seems pretty full though. http://www.aes.org/events/135/exhibitors/list.cfm
You can easily spend a couple of hours just going through exhibition hall. I will hopefully be there on Saturday.
