We should really have OSX versions of all of these tomorrow as well!!
OK OSX dudes, no more waiting, if you have a recent AVX cpu (see earlier in the thread) give it a go:

:tu:

(We are still trying to figure out exactly why it won't work on older SSE CPUs. As soon as that is done, we will post the final version. Oh, and we are also trying to get answers from Bitwig regarding the remembering settings stuff. Seems we have some indication that this might be a Bitwig issue that effects other developers too, and not directly our issue, but we are trying to clarify and resolve.)

Anyway, if you're on a 2011 or newer OSX machine give this a try, and let us know your findings! We're listening.

Working very well on late 2011 MBP. Not tried on desktop (6700k) yet.

Spikes when changing preset but for the first time I can run Kaleidoscope and B2 at the same time on this machine without a problem.

No crashes in about a hundred preset changes (yours and Simon's) so far.

Nice one! :)

Will check the new version asap, just downloaded, why is this updating for a Beta-version process still as convoluted as before? Logging in, adding to cart, redeeming the code, checking out again, I mean it's just a Beta...

wow this is so much faster and easier to use now. So glad you were able to do this!

The new negative Mod offset is a great addition! So far everything works fine...(on Mac)

And that annoying loud Thump-noise when changing Random Phase from 0% to higher values is gone, overall this version provides a much smoother and faster experience. Welcome to the experience!

My first patch with Kaleidoscope version 1.1.0, processing some modulated noise and a synth glissando, changing parameters on the fly.

Lovely update!!

2009 mac pro over here :(

will test on my 2012 mac pro asap though :)

Bc the third current development cycle (after counting the two we already discussed), namely the new web store, is still on being completed too. Sometimes it sucks being a perfectionist. :D

But I'm pretty confident it'll be one of the best web stores in our industry when it goes live. And yes it has a user account downloads area and gets rid of the this updates via orders stuff, don't worry.

Great to hear the OSX version is working well for everyone.

I was able to load 32 max CPU-uage presets live in cubase OS X yesterday with large buffer. It is 14-15 with the 1.0 version. I find we can get slightly more max instances in DAWs if you use the 25% threading setting.

If I use the red threshold pref set to -48 dB I can get about 80 instances of the second factory preset realtime!! And this is fairly representative of the average real world preset! This was around 16 in 1.0!!

Realtime buffer should basically always be kept set to "auto". Offline buffer can be set to something very high like 16k 32k and 64k. There should not be too much difference between these on most systems. 32 and 64 *might* help on mega dual socket Xeon systems but even the latest Mac Pro is only single socket these days.

Fastest render time of any host I've tried so far is Sound Forge OSX. I can render 5min of audio using the max CPU spring test prest in a bit over 12 seconds! It was something like 40 in the 1.0 version!!! Crazy!!

This is on an AvX 1.0 machine. The difference is even greater for avx 2.0 machines.

Also if you are using Ks more of a synth than a FX processor, like I do often, and using high values of "white" set it to exactly 200 and things will be slightly faster as we do not have to process any input signal in this case.

I wasn't worried at all, just ranting away in a redundant manner, then my grandmother died again, the weather, taxes - you know.

And "one of the best" always reads far more convincing than "the best" :tu:

one of a cool new addition is a special white noise mode. just set white noise slider to 200%. in this mode the pre-delays are disabled and single mono MLS noise generator is replaced with PER LINE/PER CHANNEL's one. i.e. each line/ch has its own independent MLS generator. try this new mode guys!

CPU?

at this point the only known issue that could cause a crash is if you are using an older CPU that does not have AVX. is that the case?

everything should be perfectly stable on systems with AVX (2011 and newer CPUs) as far as we know.

we're working on SSE (older CPUs) support now.

If you guys need someone on SSE 4.2 to run with a debug file or seomething, I'm game.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer
