It's gonna be spread one way or the other, but at least he's smart enough not to burden registered users, which increases the likelihood of people choosing to purchase a legit copy. I don't really care if this is ever released since I can get a good guitar sound from micing amps (go figure). However, I believe folks are giving him a hard time for not releasing something he claimed was nearly ready a year and eight months ago.

I have said many times in this thread and others that I like to see the little guy come out on top...however I think that Rene is in fact hurting himself by waiting and taking so long....having started this thread in the summer of 04 and still nothing might be considered by some to be asking for criticism. As much as I like the guy, and I do...I see inconsistencies, in the physical world those would deter my investing in a product.
So how would I be doing him a favor by saying "it's okay Rene, we're all looking forward to it"? Kissing his ass isn't helping him, and the bottom line truth is the more hype there is, the harder it will be to impress people...I have called him on those things I consider to be mistakes, but I have also given him a pat on the back when deserved...he'll tell you I sent him a PM when he offered up xmas tube telling that I thought it was awesome marketing idea...but now to be fair, he may have blown that out of the water.
I tell yah sometimes people here are so strange...in a thread about voxengo and it's policy change I pointed out some things and I was a trouble maker and had to set the record straight...in the AT2 thread and here it's the same...I guess we forgot the concept of devil's advocate...if I question something, then does that not mean I find it questionable? If I find it questionable couldn't others? So am I doing him a favor by not speaking up?...true I have gotten aggravated as he has...but he shouldn't be defensive, and many times he has responded to me with a

Worse I question his professionalism by letting things get under his skin, because let's face it, even if this is the best amp sim on the face of the earth, there will be people who have made up there mind against it and there will be people who hate it. If I say I don't like something and the company responds too me by yelling or not acting like a professional I'm sorry, I wont give them my money.
By now, I'm sorry but he needs to get it together imo...if he's taking flack it is his fault at this point...denying that fact isn't helping him at all. If it's done and he doesn't have the confidence to release it because of a "fatal mistake" (I think that's how he put it), should I have confidence in buying it?
In fact most companies make mistakes and one of the ways I judge a company is by the way they handle damage control. If there is something wrong (and there will be) and releases a patch quickly I am going to be impressed...but at this point I would hold off on buying to see how long the patch takes...if it's taken him this long to get here, do I chance wasting my money? For me the answer is no, I'll wait and see...however one thing in this latest emergence of this thread that is extremely encouraging is xoxos's endorsement of Rene.
But I do find a lot of unanswered questions, so the amp sims value drops with each one not answered...I wont pull any punches...it would not be fair to him. If he feels offended by the criticism than perhaps he needs to think about that...maybe he's better off not being the businessman...there's no shame in that, we all have strengths and weaknesses and I know that myself I wouldn't be the best person to own a a business, but I will give people professional service if employed by a company...if he let's this thread get under his skin even the slightest he needs to ask himself why...because it wont get easier for him.

Not accurate, exactly. He said it'd be ready for release in December, so it's really only 2 and a bit months late, now.

how was I not accurate...I never said anything about when he said it would be released, I did say he started this thread in 04...personally once I had the samples I needed to do what he is doing, in his shoes I might hope the thread dies out until it's ready for release...I'm not sure I would dodge and weave with each criticism...Lunch Money wrote:Not accurate, exactly.
