Taoism is wonderful. I always overlook it (much to Taoist chagrin, probably!) when thinking about world religions because I always considered it more of a philosophy. Now, since it's been several years since I did any substantial reading on the subject, it's likely that my own perspectives have shifted and changed, because even just a preliminary search on the net is making me think, "Ya know, Rob is right... I AM more of a Taoist than a Buddhist," though I still can't claim to be either.
Taoism holds at its very core the concept of balance. I don't think the universe necessarily operates in terms of balance, though it ALSO wouldn't surprise me if in several millenia, the concept of balance was discovered as a key factor in scientific dilemnas.
