PLParEQ1?

Hi Guys,
When already running at SR > 80 kHz, there is no upsampling, or downsampling. If you run traditional phase-warped filters then in fact it happens very quickly and no block-oriented processing is used. But time-reversed processing does have to block the data into chunks and do 2 passes through the filters, forward and backward.
But more than that... multiple instance cost multiple times the memory buffers and dither tables, plus addition VST host-plugin interfacing. All that inefficiency disappears when a single plugin runs more than one band. There is only one set of buffers, dither tables, and host interfaces needed and shared by all the filter bands.
So all that memory being used and all the extra host communications with multiple copies running stresses your system pretty hard. You may well start experiencing severe paging of your memory and that will just kill realtime performance.
Stay tuned... I kicking the sh** out of PLParEQ1 right now. As soon as I track down the cause of some of the reported "bugs", I'll let everyone know and make a corrected version available. I want all of us to enjoy this plugin. And who knows... perhaps more bands will be forthcoming....

You mean me? I have a 24 bit sound card. Doesn't that mean the audio output is 24 bit, even on a 32 bit wav file, or am I wrong about that?zck wrote:Why is the output converted to 24 bits instead of 32 ?

You audiophiles you!!!
Yes, the announcement that David will make a bug free version and even thinks about putting more bands into it is very cool. Much appreciated.
Best wishes, FRitz (the good sound appreciater)
