BTW, the new UI is fantastic for the most part. A giant leap forward.

Edward, while you have been trolling about Image-Line for the last 5 years, the following people have been making hit tracks and or their living with it:

http://www.image-line.com/flstudio/powerusers.php

Not listed on that page, but also using FL Studio includes:

Alvaro
Armin van Buuren
Blasterjaxx
Celldweller
David Guetta
Dyro
Feint
Gesaffelstein
Paris Blohm
Hudson Mohawke
Mord Fustang
Nicky Romero
Nitro Fun
Orjan Nilsen
Owsey
Kaytranada
Paris Blohm
Sandro Silva
Zeds ZEDS DEAD

Please, post a link to the incredible music you are making with this 'no workarounds' DAW software you are using. Don't forget to name your chosen DAW software, so people can contrast your musical achievements, unencumbered by FL Studio, with those on the above list struggling with workarounds.

My list of DAW's includes:
Cubase 7.5, Reaper 4, Studio one 2, Sonar x3 and Fl Studio11

Cubase did not adopt any of my three feature request so
I will not upgrade to version 8. So the Reaper and S1
updates can change things. I am hoping that Sonar
also makes some improvements.

I am heading towards multi-touch screen workflow:
so FL Studio 11 and Sonar X3 are the leaders.
Looks like Windows 10 will make the multi-touch
music making experience a reality with the features
they are planning to implement in 2015.

I need to have ARA so here Sonar X3 wins.
But...
I can run FL studio as a VSTi in Sonar.

This is my plans today.

Any comments or suggestions?

:hihi: As somebody who's not really a musician, I find this highly relevant.

It's ok to want more, better, faster, easier, etc, etc, but some people are actually going about the job of making multiple albums with stuff other people claim is unusable. As mostly a conventional audio engineer my needs are pretty specific. Doing what I do in Garagband or Mixcraft or similar would be pretty tough and very frustrating, and would have clients leaving because it would probably take too long and they do pay by the hour.

But making a nice EDM song when you actually aren't on the clock is quite another story. :hihi:

If your daily workflow is chock full of workarounds, you picked the wrong product.

While this is OTT, the a good basic setup for working with touch would be a monitor down on the desk and some more monitors above it for non-touch stuff. You can drag things on and off the touch screen...

@Scott/Image-Line:
Any plans of adding the "traditional/normal" view of waveforms in Edison?
By "traditional/normal" view I mean be able to see the usual two channels (R and L) at same time in Edison.

Something like this:

It's definitively a good way to work... And I don't know why Edison doesn't have it... :tu:

Cheers.

Sorry for the OT comments but it is relevant as FL studio will integrate more multi-touch features in V12 and this shows how best to take advantage of them.

In may case I have dual monitor and the touch monitor will be about 30 degrees off the desk just as in the image you provided. I will wait till Windows 10 come out and then make the decision on the monitor about 32 inch I figure.

See my current setup here at the bottom.

I will remove the iPad and put the 32" multi-touch monitor in its place.

Still my question is how well will LF Studio work as a VSTi inside Sonar X4 (when released)

It's definitely a nice mode to have (I had the same reaction when I started using Edison), but surprisingly, it's so rarely needed and so why gol designed Edison the way he did. I have probably needed that view twice in the last 8 years. You can of course use the View > Display > Left/Right channel option.
