But seriously... i'm with you here. I haven't started anything really ( i have a few sketches).
I was thinking of continuing my idea last month - basically create a real time 3d forest / nature scene with a soundtrack from noisemaker. Maybe i'll have some animation 3d characters, or some interesting things in the periphery of the cinematic. We'll see.

Hey guys!
A quick question: can I use filtering and automation on EQ after the synth? (Like auto filter and eq 8 in ableton)? Like e.g. for generation of more movement in bass lines.
Distortion and midi effects seams to be fine, as far as I understood now.
Thx

So I decided to give this a go, not created a track for OSC before.
Here's one i'm working on at the minute, but got another idea on Korg Gadget on my iPad which I might look at emulating using Noisemaker, we'll see.
Oh Yeah...
So far it is 16 Noisemaker instances in Studio One 2 Pro, 1 S1 Room Reverb send effect for the snare, S1 Pro EQ, S1 Compressor & Limiter on the master. All other delay/reverb are just from noisemaker so far, but still got to work on it yet.

If you don't abuse of it , I think you are fine.reiswolf wrote:Hey guys!

Rule says that is not allowed : "Any effect that transforms the sound to make them unrecognizable as being from the synth."
I don't like to use automated extern filters (for me it goes too far beyond the limit of what the synth is capable), so what I do is layer the same sound with different filter types, and then automate the cuttof, reso, and volume (and drive, if the synth has one).
Here some examples :
https://soundcloud.com/jruegg/xhip-bass-test-gain
https://soundcloud.com/jruegg/dexed-drums-bass-test
https://soundcloud.com/jruegg/synapse-j ... -drum-bass
Not sure if it's the kind of movement you want tho.

Thanks man, that helped a lot. Nice examples. Normally I would bounce audio and mangle the sample when I create my bass lines. Then freeze it again, put it in another sampler and modulate it further. Depending on the sampler you have some routing of envelopes or LFOs to the cutoff or resonance or whatever. Doing this without a sampler just makes me think how to recreate a routing matrix and some generations of bouncing without actually doing it. This is where your approach kicks in, having layers of the same patch and automating it differently.J.Ruegg wrote:If you don't abuse of it , I think you are fine.reiswolf wrote:Hey guys!

And with the unrecognizable effects: distortion can be quite heavy. Thats why I only used it very subtle.
Actually it is quite good to rethink stuff in a different, synth only way. Bouncing and re bouncing audio degenerates it very quickly.
thx
