Since this thread is getting long, I was wondering if anyone has collected all patches and updates, and put them into a nice .zip file for quick download for those of us who came late to the party.

We couldn't get everyone to send permission for this, there's the thread that has links to all banks on the first post.nebulae wrote:Since this thread is getting long, I was wondering if anyone has collected all patches and updates, and put them into a nice .zip file for quick download for those of us who came late to the party.

aah, yes, I see that now. As my wife points out often, I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to looking for things directly in front of my face.

New patches for FilterscapeVA!
http://www.filterscape.com/download/Tor ... enFSVA.rar
Torben (who's a die hard Zebra user) has just sold off his Filterscape license - and he sent me the patches he did for FilterscapeVA over the years, before erasing the stuff. I think this is an incredibly nice move, and we'll happily share this little patch set with you! Everyone who sells off licenses should make his patches available to public... if only to leave some sort of trace for an earlier love...
Cheers,
Urs
P.S.: Brian, can you link them up?

I'm working on a php-mysql-driven customer system on the side which will eventually take over a lot of tasks (reg code reminders, special offers, downloads). But it of course takes some time to make this bullet proof. I'm using it internally for all sorts of task and newsletters...
There are great concepts for patch sharing already... I'm very curious as to what the final solution for patch meta data (author, genre, description, controllers) will be, and this will have a big influence on the actual implementation...
So... unfortunately, for now we only have Brian to keep it together...

Yeah... but it would be interim...kodama wrote:Well for a simple solution, a free PHP/MySQL CMS like Drupal can support uploads with user accounts, customizable categories, etc...
I'd like to i.e. offer the option to browse/sync patches right within the plugin window...

Ugh. No thank you. I hate plugins that try to phone home. (Line6 has really taken this to extremes) Granted, its a pain that my DAW isn't internet connected sometimes, but having programs that expect it to be is even more annoying.Urs wrote:Yeah... but it would be interim...kodama wrote:Well for a simple solution, a free PHP/MySQL CMS like Drupal can support uploads with user accounts, customizable categories, etc...

The concept is, using this *optionally*. It would be deactivated by default. Hehehe, I know the issue inside out. No talking home without opting in for thatpuffer wrote:having programs that expect it to be is even more annoying.
It may anyway work differently. I'd expect a lot of weird problems when plugins do stuff that's outside of their scope, like net sync. Thus this function might be available in some sort of stand alone application.
Apart from that there would naturally also be an offline way of installing a downloadable patch sync file.
The main idea of the "phone home" would be a Patch Submit button that invites people to show off their work and have it rated by other users within the system. There might even be a credit point collection system based on patch ratings - which would make patch design attractive because of special offers for certain amounts of credit points...
I think that patch sharing must be as simple as possible, optimally by pressing one button in the gui.
What do you think?

Sounds good to me. In a similar vein as this, although much simpler, I'd also like the ability to collapse folders in the preset view. Take your pick over the +/- or Triangle. It's nice to hide directory complexities when not needed.Urs wrote:I think that patch sharing must be as simple as possible, optimally by pressing one button in the gui.

I've already started to work on this, but it takes a bit longer... it'll be avilable in a subsequent update...bmrzycki wrote:collapse folders in the preset view.

That would be nice, I (and maybe also some other people) don't have an internet connection on my audio PC.Urs wrote:Apart from that there would naturally also be an offline way of installing a downloadable patch sync file.

As always, you're way ahead of my feeble mind in your thinking. If could connect Z2 through my internet/work laptop and sync a patch file that way, and then sync that file to my DAW, that would be cool. And I like the idea of not having to keep track of which presets I downloaded and which I didn't; an easy way to share my custom patches without having to build and zip banks myself. Yeah, that's cool.Urs wrote:The concept is, using this *optionally*. It would be deactivated by default. Hehehe, I know the issue inside out. So, I trust you have a good idea of what we punters want and what won't work for us.
