Syntronik 2 loads up Syntronik 1 presets as does Sampletank 4. It took them less then 24 hours to respond to the issue. Peter provided the simple steps for those that had issues a few posts back.

And earlier rather cryptic posts implied that v1 instruments wouldn't work if they where obtained in the group buy. Anyway, I've moved on...

They work and Syntronik and Syntronik Deluxe even chosen as a free choice in the group buy qualifies for the Syntronik 2 MAX upgrade.

Wow, that sucks! These upgrade paths baffle me. I can upgrade from 2 to 3 max for the same as someone who made a recent “ Max” purchase that of course, didn’t include a Max product.

Yup- quite a few people moaned about it at the time (myself included) as one you are in to the TS MAX ecosystem single product upgrades make no sense at all....they really need something more like a 'complete my bundle' price like Kilohearts do....failing that, we just wait for TS 4.

I had the exact same symptoms. Every time I closed the ST4 plug in window it would crash. Stand-alone always worked.

I’d suggest looking through all the sub folders again to see if you have a “SampleTank 3” folder inside another folder were it shouldn’t be.

also double check the sample content library locations. You don’t need to reinstall anything. Just check the file structures are correct (check for nested folders that should be top level) and then re-add them.

This fixed the crashes completely. I didn’t reinstall Logic or any libraries and went from ST4 crashing every single time I close the plug in window to it working properly instantly.

Yeah that was part of my reinstall. I reinstalled EVERYTHING. It took me along time, but everything is lean, clean and organised. Unless there is something dodgy with how things are delivered. But then, the chance of them having a ST3 instrument inside a fresh Syntronik 2 install is most likely to non-existent.

Because it is happening to BOTH audio units, I'm hedging that there is more likely there is an issue with an underlying framework that both plugins reference/use for displaying that is triggering the crash.

I ended up doing fresh installs, reboots, reauthorisations, deleted the audio unit cache and did a rescan, I reinstalled Logic. The problem is persistent. It happens when either closing the plugin window or switching to another plugin with the "link" button engaged.

I was going to pull the trigger to upgrade to Syn 2 Max until I saw the above post.

It's been more than 2 weeks since Syn 2 was released, and yet there is ZERO user demo or review on Youtube. I guess people are having hard times installing or running Syn 2.

In all fairness not everyone uses Logic and AudioUnits either.

As always with new products you can always expect a few bugs, developers usually do. So their first few weeks after an initial release is spent responding and fixing issues that seemed to slip past review. It doesn't matter the size of your beta team, it will never be as big as the thousands of customers that will have different configurations and be using the product in different ways. This is why some companies have public betas.

Bugs will always be a factor with what we do, I can accept that for the most part. What unnerves me though is whether my problem is too hard and too isolated that they don't bother solving it because its economically unviable. That's what causes me to lose sleep.

my Syntronik 2 crashes on Windows in VST2 + VST3 in Live 11.0.11 on both my Windows 10 computers. Did also do reinstall, which did not help. Removed SampleTank3 folders from sound content, no solution.

Anyone else having these crashes? Window 10 20H2.
I also noticed, when again using "Install To" it did at times not honor my set path and installed to the C:\Users\Public Documents folder.
Contacted support 2 weeks ago. But they are of no help. requesting screenshots I have already sent, requesting to delete SampleTank3 folders, which is apparently deleted already in the screenshots.
I'm a bit left alone here, spending 125€ on Syntronik 2 Max which I can't use because it crashes. Mostly it happens on loading a second instance, but also happened on the first instance already.

I wouldn’t rule out a rogue file. Both ST4 and syntronik point to the same content. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same bug is in both.

Could easily be something other than the file structure but as I said before I had the exact same symptoms and moving content fixed it.

I think some of the older sample libraries get confused with the file structures from the newer ones and install in the wrong places.

I emailed IKM support and they said not to use an external drive for content! Even though this capability is explicitly described in the sampletank 4 manual. I’m using an external drive now after organising the files correctly and it works as it should. Thanks IK support. You were wrong!

To rule it out, remove all the content locations in prefs and add each top level folder (ie Sampletank 4) one by one. If there’s a problem with any of the folders you’ll get the same crash when you close the plugin UI.

Reorganising it all worked 100% for me.

I just thought it might be worth double checking you don’t have multiple ‘sample’ and ‘instrument’ folders nested inside the main folder structure.

IKs installers were responsible for the mess in my case. I installed everything to the same location using product manager and it still stuffed it up.

And it’s easy to make a mistake putting all the files where you think they should go… I just worked out which sample packs should go in ST3 and which should be in 4 and luckily it worked.

YMMV. But for anybody else having the same issue with Logic it’s worth checking I think.
