This is what I am reading for, for example, API 2500:
Included Versions

UAD Native
Runs on your Mac or PC without UA hardware.

Apollo Realtime & UAD‑2
Runs accelerated on Apollo interfaces and UAD‑2 hardware.
https://www.uaudio.com/uad-plugins/comp ... essor.html

So, I think it is a yes to answer your question.

I got a new thank you coupon in cart about 30 mins after using the UADTUESDAY coupon and previous thank you coupon for the first purchase today, but I am unable to reapply the UADTUESDAY coupon for the second purchase. I was guessing already when I saw this offer today morning that they might have done it purposefully. But on the other side it doesn't make sense since all plugins are $39 with resellers.

It may be good to wait for some time.

All $39 deals available here too

When you already have the Diamond bundle, isn't the best and cheapest way to get these additional UAD natives just to wait until they offer upgrades containing all the new stuff during Black Friday or in December? Asking for a friend.

Wish I asked that before purchasing the 175b/176.

Good question… and on their forum they’re saying something big is coming in November.

FYI the Plugin Boutique email says $39 for the 1176 collection, the Studer A800, Lexicon 224 etc, but when you click the first "take a look" link they're all $149. Only when you click through to the actual product page do you see the discount.

EDIT - this non-newsletter link works fine - https://www.pluginboutique.com/deals/show?sale_id=14267

Yes. Although I purchased for the native versions, UA hardware versions are in my account too. I don’t believe any non-native ones are on sale, but the would be only thing to look for (that there’s a native version available too).

two questions:

where can i see a code at UA ? (jumped on the 176/175b @UA)

which ones would be useful for me for Rhodes / Piano / Synths ?
for sayed $39, i might snatch another 1-2-3 (nolonger spending on HW)
Especially interested in more options vs. warmth for Rhodes and Synths / still somehow struggling with comps vs. Piano

not exactly interested in channel strips. (edit: i might have to rethink it )
EQs: i use so far only digital ones ( with dynamisation of bands)
something analog, coloured, might fit there nicely as a supplement
all my soundsources are plugin based.
What ya think ?

175 is super warm. Pultec would be good. Fairchild might also help. VoxBox might also help but will take some getting used to.

thats the two i was mostly thinking towards, past surfing UAs page. Plus 1176
not sure Fairchild vs. 1176...?

interesting.
checking right now the 176 in my patch.
One for the Piano /EP, one on the FX path ( creative delay stuff, heavily dyna-EQed)
will exchange with 175B after some real live kitchen stop + cooking, now.

Gladly i have a real-Tube based Bass pre setup.
So my ears are aware of what type of differences we are dealing with.
Still a tough one to get used to to hear the differences.

176 seems to give me some higher "clarity" to the signal.
but seems in this usecase to work against what i acomplish with my dyna-EQing, on the FX path.
Seems i need good Tube-warmth without the compression aspect. Or less so.
any thoughts on this one anybody ?

The 176 demo @UA was the first time i thought i hear a plugin who has "really" something of that*, what my Bass tube Pre (incl. Transformer out) setup does to the signals. * Quite good in fact. Its stunning.

Thanks, much welcome !

1176 not so necessary when you have the 176. Still, it’s good to have for $39.

No, a one time code.
UADTUESDAY has just reappeared in my cart after I used it yesterday.
I now have $50 + $25 Thank You code meaning I can grab UA 175B & 176 for $14

I was watching videos explaining how they’re different… 175b/176 while predecessors of the 1176, they’re different compressor types with different attack times and different sound. Based on compressor type, the 176 is more like a Fairchild (tube/transistor) vs the FET 1176.

The 176 is supposed to have a slower attack and supposed to be good for vocals and bass.

The UA product page says “fast attack” for the 176, but they don’t compare it to the 1176, so maybe the video is still right?

Disclaimer… I’m not saying I’m right. I’m bringing it up because I’m actually not sure. I’m trying lo learn more about each model and compressor type.

Yes, good to have both, especially for $39 (or less). Personally, since getting the 176 (4 years ago because I'm a DSP user), I find that I usually choose it over the 1176. YMMV.

What do people think of the API 2500? Esp that it’s 39$ atm. Is it significantly better than Lindell / Waves / DMG?

What about the Studer?

I picked up Studer yesterday, so i can't say a lot about it yet, but I watched the riffs and beards YT video comparing it to the other UA tape machines, which I felt was a good enough comparison (when coupled with a quick run of the free trial on a mix I was having difficulting gluing together) to justify the $39. Definitely worth checking out the comparison in that video to see if Studer is something you might find useful
