Sometimes Ubuntu tries to simplify things too much for the user, and it ends up being a hinderance.
My apologies! I didn't notice your URL link. I didn't realized that you had already answered the question.uOpt wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:11 pmWhat the hell did the Ubuntus do now? No grub menu? /slapTHE INTRANCER wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 1:30 am I'm not actually presented with a Grub menu when Ubuntu runs. I use to have 3 options to choose from when I had Linux Mint installed | Windows 7 | Linux Mint 18 and another option from a list. Everything runs automatically with Ubuntu LTS.
If you know the required lines to inject GRUB option to the boot sequece then that would be useful for those interested in doing this.
Do you know whether you use BIOS or uEFI? Either way this helps with getting the menu once:

As highlighted in that thread, I managed to get access to the Grub menu ( Holding Shift on Boot ) and navigate the options but none list Windows 10 which is on a different drive.uOpt wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 3:11 pmWhat the hell did the Ubuntus do now? Can you do `update-grub` and post the output here?THE INTRANCER wrote: Thu Nov 09, 2023 7:31 pm As highlighted in that thread, I managed to get access to the Grub menu ( Holding Shift on Boot ) and navigate the options but none list Windows 10 which is on a different drive.
I'm not sure if having Windows 10 on the SSD would enable the option to pop up on the Grub menu as it would be on the same drive as Ubuntu. If the Grub script could be enabled to identify Windows 10 on a separate drive then that would be the preferred option.
My system uses the older type BIOS, it doesn't have the uEFI type.
I do not remember having to install any dependencies, I used the "GDebi" package manager which I had to install first as it is not available in Ubuntu by default ......sudo apt install gdebi -yTHE INTRANCER wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 1:20 am Trying to install Studio One 6 On Ubuntu Weyland isn't working, there are dependencies which I don't know how to fix.

After I posted this morning I booted the Ubuntu Live CD and used the Gdebi installer to test it and it worked great. Took a few minutes to install Studio One, much like a Windows install. Gdebi will sort out all the dependencies for you.THE INTRANCER wrote: Fri Nov 10, 2023 4:56 pm
Thanks, I tried that and Weyland is working. I tried the alternate way to install / get Studio One to run and presented with a popup window with some info about Studio One, however when I try and install, I'm presented with a another popup window saying I'm missing dependencies.
I dunno, I've updated Ubuntu with the latest updates and still no dice.
I'll have to format the SSD and re-install Ubuntu again as I've broken it where it doesn't boot at all now. I have Ubuntu still on my USB Stick so it's another case of reinstalling Linux. So followed your way and there is no luck. I then tried the terminal and got this.
~/Downloads$ sudo apt install ./Studio\ One\ 6-x86_64.deb

Can someone make a thread on the Studio One forums about installing Studio One on Ubuntu and fixing this. I'm lost on how to fix this without breaking Ubuntu. ( I got banned by a egotist mod, so can't post there now)
Thanks, that explains it, how infuriating.
