Re Drumoog et al:

dsan was on the money :) The parts are each triggered by a limited range of notes. Here's the ranges for the first 4 parts.

Image

Note that, for some, there is a combination of Note Lo/High and Transpose; the note name in the Part name the resulting pitch I'll guess, not the triggering note.

I got misled as clicking the SampleMoog keyboard or [Zones] button, ignores the Range settings. (hence this FR for ST3:
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/forum/viewt ... =75#p46786 )
Don't try clicking the virtual keyboard at home as it tirggers all Parts (as they are all on the same MIDI channel) and it gets LOUD.

There's potential for a Wakeman/Rudess "battle of the flying fingers" if we brought the VFX sounds into the fold :)

Bring it on.......... :D I'm more like fumbling fingers..........

Anyway here are 8 Multis done with "only" Sonik Synth content. Lush 80-90's Choir Pad sounds....a layered electronic drum kit. I'm not doing any fancy Macro or Modulation stuff yet but I've got a bunch of ideas.....more to come:

What exactly is the different about layering from the ST 2.5 process? Is it dramatically different? What'sthe deal?

Aha! So that's likely why we are not getting sound from some of those patches. I wonder if this is the case with those Sonic Synth patches everyone has reported not working?

I notice in your image a range of -C2. Most of us will likely be seeing the lowest note of C0 on the virtual keyboard and will need to transpose down to reach -C2. I typically don't move the keyboard display.

Thanks Darkstar for all the work you are putting into this! :tu:

To me it is identical, except you can see the screen better ;)

Select a channel, double click an instrument, set volume, pan, MIDI channel, go to the next and do the same thing. Set all MIDI channels the same and you have up to 16 instruments playing at the same time - depending on the instrumentation of course.

The same intuitiveness as was in ST2.5.

Then, if you want to tweak a sound, go to the "Edit" page and turn dials to your hearts content :D

Going into the Live page expands on this as you can set up "Songs" (I think up to 64), each with its own set of Multi's and up to 16 instruments per multi.

That range does run from C-2 (MIDI note 0) to C2 (MIDI note 24).

As for the investigations, I'm just channelling my inner Clouseau

just spoke to Sweetwater... they say Sept 15 for the box version... my rep said i could change my order to electronic deliver... than he read that 33 GB data... which is a lot of data and said the box version would be better... when i said... plus IK Multimedia charges about $8 to re download the content if their were a problem... i.e. hard disk crash... the rep stated... really!?... and started laughing...

Wow! They keep pushing it further back. :dog: Then again, maybe that's good news, as Komplete 10 should be announced by then. If it looks that much more enticing, we can cancel the yet unshipped preorder at Sweetwater and jump on K10. :phones:

So the question is whether the demo is still coming 'later this week' as stated.
(Wait, was that said a week ago?)

I think there is a bug in the Tape Echo effect....

Set up an instrument and load that effect. For A Time select 1/4d and for B Time select 1/2.

See how the lights signifying the effect time blink asynchronously?

Now save that instrument.

Now re-load that instrument. See the light now blinking in unison? And yes, the echo sounds different. You can get it back to the way it should be by adjusting the B Time again.

Can anyone else verify this?

Darkstar post seemed to suggest some new layering functionality, which made it possible to create the patches he posted.

However I wasn't sure if that was indeed the case.

Yes I can confirm this bug. Good catch ! :)
