@Uncle E: Does Tracktion deliver licenses over the weekend or will people who bought something in that sale Friday or later have to wait for Monday? Asking for an impatient little gremlin. aka me

dangayle wrote:Fault is great. The presets are a bit wacky, but the actual plugin can be very subtle. A little warble, some cool octaving, smooth (or extreme) chorusing effects.dzilizzi wrote:Is Unfiltered Audio's Fault worth getting for $29? I already used my voucher this month. It looks interesting but does it actually do what it says it does?
Thanks
Edit - 24 hr flash sale that ends at midnight, so I picked it up. The videos looked interesting enough. I guess I will find out if it is good.
Love Richard Divine’s music all you want, but 3/4 of the presets that he makes for all of the plugins seem to be simply random useless noises.
Completely agree. It’s almost as if most of these ‘sound designers’ are getting paid to hit some kind of Randomizer button.

With multi-FX plugins, especially Unfiltered Audio's stuff, it's hard to make a patch that works on all possible incoming audio in a pleasing manner. What I get most out of Richard Devine's presets isn't so much the result but the illustration of how the different components can work together. It's one thing to read about each component in the manual but the only way to learn how they interact is to spend time and do it yourself—or have someone else show you a few shortcuts. That's what those presets are to me. They show creative possibilities and you can study them.dangayle wrote:Love Richard Divine’s music all you want, but 3/4 of the presets that he makes for all of the plugins seem to be simply random useless noises.

Unfortunately, it looks like we won't receive the upgrades until Monday. They sometimes work on the weekends but I messaged them last night about these and haven't heard back.Greenstorm33 wrote:@Uncle E: Does Tracktion deliver licenses over the weekend or will people who bought something in that sale Friday or later have to wait for Monday? With summer flash sales, is it usually safe to assume there will be better sales in November/December? Or is a flash sale right now likely to be the best time this year to buy? (I'm thinking specifically about the Izotope flash sale, but also curious in general....)BBFG# wrote:Watch the online shops for flash offers that disappear almost as soon as they're announced. I picked up Stage for close to 60% off that way. Within the same month, Modartt did one of their 30% off including upgrades sales. Since they never list the full studio pro package in those sales, I contacted them, and they were extremely accommodating in working it out. Probably my most used and favorite plugin now.waltercruz wrote:Ahh yes! But I was poor on that weekdzilizzi wrote:The closest thing I saw recently was a buy their new piano expansion, get one free. Contact them.
What's the economic reasoning behind flash sales?...

I don't think RX Elements has ever been less than $29.Ou_Tis wrote:With summer flash sales, is it usually safe to assume there will be better sales in November/December? In iZotope's case, it makes sense because they're running some really good upgrade and crossgrade deals at the same time, so they're probably hoping people will take advantage of those if they like the $29 Elements versions. With Waves, I always guessed that this current glut of $29 deals was due to V10 being on the horizon, meaning those $29 customers would eventually subscribe to WUP or upgrade to bundles. However, v10 has now arrived and they're still doing them, so I'm guessing they're hooked now. What's the economic reasoning behind flash sales?...

For those that dont know, the RX Elements Editor allows to apply VST/DirectX plugins to spectral selections.
ie lasso a frequency range and apply an effect to only that range.
Wish theyd built that in to Iris2

PSP MasterComp is on super sale (88% off) at Plugin Boutique. Anyone have experience with it? Is it a huge difference over stock compressors?

One cool thing is you get a mastering version and a buss compressor version. That said, the PSP Xenon mastering limiter, which is part of the same $29.99 sale, is much more highly regarded and popular:

I own both (I own mostly everything by PSP) and I am very happy. at that price, it's a no-brainer. I would put any PSP plugin over most of the popular choices around these parts.willsavino wrote:PSP MasterComp is on super sale (88% off) at Plugin Boutique. Anyone have experience with it? When I'm working on a song, I try a good many different compressors (including the stock ones, which are actually very good most of the time) on the busses and in the mastering session. I tend to end up with PSP ones.

@Uncle E Seems like "group" coupon doesn't work for Xenon and mastercomp.
