nah...if you can't do it with this

then it's not the amps fault

No it isn't. It's muddy sounding and the demo crashes my host.

RE: Sansamp

Hmmm... The Tweed sound is ok-ish, but that's about it

ps. Check Plexi's profile... occupation.... hehe

 works for me, two songs on my page use a POD2.0 the rest of the guitars are through a GT2...I'm hardly alone on this viewpoint as well....

Mind you, I did say "if you can't do it on this"... Not you should use this and only this.

I ain't sayin' it's terrible, it's just at the same level as everything else... hehe... 90% there

Cep't the real thing, of course

Post

Actually, I've been messin' with Xmas tube and I rekon' this limitation on the sim. thing is all about the pre-amp now. I'd love to try an XmasTube pre only + GR2 + AT2 blend..... LOL.... Then, we mite be @ 95%

I disagree.. but that's cool...btw my plexi sounded like crap until I learned how to make it sound good...didn't come with presets...

Actually, that's got me thinkin' ... Remember crappy Revalver, with the preamp AND amp modelling.... hmmmmm... No other software amp sims. seem to do this anymorezz... I wonder... a big missing step, maybe

What are you saying Jeff?
This sound is not the maximum, but for me the attack is near to good...

Not too shabby, sounds a bit "boxy" tho... Listen to the AT2 demos, the bottom end is more on the money IMHO... Just try to ignore the high-end fizzle :) hehe

Post

daGuru: I disagree about your assessment of the GT2. I think the Tweed sound is the weak link, while you think it's the good part. ;) I think the other 2 types of sounds are better than the tweed.

<chuckles>

He hehehe... Well, on that topic, I ain't really that fussy when it comes to clean tones (in fact, I think most of the simulators have got that down)... I ain't no Jazz lover :)... But distortion, on the other hand, well....... It's gotta be 100% or go home :)

Post

I think clean is where an amp is made or broken. Distortion can make any guitar sound good, but only the clean tone can make a guitar sound alive, or impart a signature characteristic upon it. :D

The GT2 "Tweed" still breaks up at the wrong moment.
