The issue with x.4.11 appears to be fixed. Anyone who has already downloaded 1.0.1 and needs compatibility with X.4.11, and is not already in contract with us should please send an email to support at 2caudio dot com.

X.5 and Windows users do NOT need to do anything.

As expected, it seemed to be just a very simple thing to fix that was caused by some oddities in X.4.11 that are no longer present in X.5. All good now both for our official and "unofficial" platforms and OSs. :)

This is curious, what exactly is the problem? I'm having no problems with Live 8. Have you tried other hosts?

I picked up Aether when it was first released and have been running it in
Tiger (10.4.11) all this time with no problem. However, after downloading
the new update it no longer works in Live 7/8 .
Same here.. Only installed Audio Unit however.

like this guy has said ----

i dont have any other hosts to try it with ,, the problem is basically when i load an old live set 1 that has aether in use or 1 that does not have it in use it doesnt matter they all crash when the new updates installed in my plug ins folder,,,at first i tried reinstalling live and the aether again,, but this never worked,, i have since deleted aether from plug ins folder and now my live sets seem to load up just fine.. :( is no-one else having this problem?

Scott,
If you write to Andrew support@2caudio.com there is a new installer
which allowed me to get the AU version working in Live and Logic. I
still haven't been able to get the VST to show up in the browser even
though it is in my VST folder. Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Scott

I think what I meant to mention was, I had a similar problem with one of the betas when I had the wrong name entered in for the folder: /Library/Application Support/2C-Audio/Aether, I'm on 10.5 though. Sounds like tech support is on top of it, anyway.

Andrew, thanks for the update. I installed over the top of the old version. I had to re-enter the serial but that was no big deal for me. I'm using Live 7 here and everything is working much better now (no black screen).

...Its easy for us as developers to get wrapped up in all the things that go along with making, releasing, selling, and supporting a product, and of course we are very passionate about these things and wish to excel in all of them....

But today I spent several hours just playing Steinberg's The Grand 3 through Aether, and I remembered why we do it all... It's amazing to have technologies like these today. Sure I can get wrapped up in technical details and say things like the buffer was only 64-samples running on an 8 core machine in X beta host, in Y beta OS, and sample rate was this, and that... but at the end of the day it's about making great music and feeling the intuitive connection that co-creates inspiration... and wow! I have to say in all humbleness, man I was really feeling it and in the zone. :D The Grand 3 is a very playable instrument, and well I have to say I am honestly really proud of what we have accomplished with Aether. This is a lot of fun! This is what making music is all about!

Now Denis and I am excited to take it to the next level. :o

I always find it rewarding when a positive review I write for SOS results in more sales for a good product 8)

I was well impressed by Aether!
