Still happy to have another great synth from Urs though.
Sh*t. Me too. I've been out of town so I didn't get a chance to read the entire thread. Oh well. No biggie I guess, but I wonder why as a previous U-he customer I'm not on a mailing list about such things...
Well, by luck I didn't missed the promo,
but I'm really fed up with wading through all these threads, hundreds of stickies and pages in this forum, so to not miss any news about any of Urs'
goodies.
A plain simple newsletter from time to time about new products, betas and Updates (!) would be much appreciated.

Btw, not bad, this synth... :D (ACE, that is)

i think urs decided just to release it to you guys last night as a bit of treat as everyone was asking for it :) i knew yesterday morning it was coming out when urs wanted the presets in a hurry hehe so he could prepare the release for you :D

btw

great synth..excellent price and sounds fantastic

Rob
Well, that's ok (in regard to the promo for ACE),

but my comment was more general speaking - with regards also to other products.

There'll be a combined newsletter with the Zebra update, Uhbik update, ACE intro, Soundbank intros, intro of uhniverse.com (uh, I better write something) and seasonal greetings soon. I'm doing it all at once because I don't want to spam people.

I'm not sending out newsletters for betas or anything, only for stuff that's ready to use in productions

:D Well, I'm running at least 2 beta's, which fixed some issues I had with the 'ready to use in Productions' versions.
(MFM2, Filterscape and Uhbik - ok, the later just to be able to try out
the added G-Uhbik).

It's just, that I feel, it's hard to keep track with the news posted here on this forum (also since it has quite an active community).

Anyway, it's not meant as criticism,
keep going...

Thanks and Cheers,

:)

Finally not entoushiaste at the first contact, I bought this ACE but don't understand all leading to the modulation from Mapping GENERATOR compared Modwheel .Are previous tutorial-video as the ZEBRA & Bazille?

Sometimes cables mask line modulation capabilities below the interface of the ACE _

I've planned some tutorials but can't say when. I think I'll be spending all of February with tutorials.

A French translation of the manual is in the works and will hopefully shed some light on things.

Many thanks and what great powers of deduction on nationality! Fantastic.

I for one font recall ever getting a newsletter from you. For me it is really frustrating having to manually check back for updates all the time. You could never spam me enough

A newsletter is delicate, believe me.

I run a script that sends out thousands of emails, one by one, over the course of several hours. After only a hundred emails or so, roughly 20-30% of emails bounce back because my server has already landed on a spam blacklist and various providers don't accept my emails due to that. This also means that I can not communicate with customers anymore from my normal accounts (urs@, anybody@), so I have to revert to accounts that my customers don't know, which in turn end up in their spam folders.

This is why I'm very reluctant to send newsletters.

Other companies btw. run their scripts delayed over several days to avoid the spam traps. It's hilarious what we have to go through...

nice filter model , the general sound is very pinched and to clinical though
not enough warmth , a bit to narrow in the soundfield , but that may be what some like
, nice clean gui, cpu usage was not an obvious problem

Care to post a dry recorded example of a synth without any effects that sounds not clinical, full of warmth and wide in the stereofield?

Congrats on the release of ACE Urs! :D

Yeah - we've been spreading our newsletters over a couple of days for the reason you give. However, we're now in the process of moving over to mailchimp.com This gets round the issues you describe to a large extent. It does cost $0.01 per email (if you do the pay as you go deal and buy $250 credits at once) - which is an additional expense - but OTOH if its not worth $0.01 to send an email then perhaps its not worth sending. Anyway, on the basis of my experience so far mailchimp seems good - but feel free to email me in a month or two if you want my impression based on using it for a while longer.

Cheers

Thanks Ben,

That's interesting! It will be a bit of work to integrate with my own customer management, but it sounds possible... hmmm... will think about it!

Isn't that what the circuit bending section is for? To add some unstability!? :)
