For what I know, "punch" is basically just a single-cycle pulse (or ramp, don't exactly remember now) wave admixed to the sound. I agree that having a full blown sample osc should be much more interesting. Actually Serum has something like that.Phil Sonic Academy wrote:I did actually study the virus punch... at one stage we had a punch control on the oscs... but i ended up just adding a set of "punch" samples in the sampler section.. seemed to be more versatile.
Sonic Academy new synth!

For 3rd party developers, with the new sample import, will samples have to be included with the library or are they embedded in the preset?

I believe so... although Ivan who designed them would know for sure.chk071 wrote:Just out of interest, not because i think it necessarily makes something superior/inferior, will ANA 2 have zero delay feedback filters?
I know the analog Modelled ones sound quite like the real thing... maybe not quite as nice as UAD Moog filter... but up there with other top synth emulations.
Ultimately its a balance between sound quality and CPU and we think we are at the sweet spot.
Ive attached the image of the Analog types.. you can guess whats what im sure.

I can't comment on future updates, but for now this doesn't exist. You can right click on most controls to add a mod source which is just as fast (it automatically appears in the matrix), but I agree that the modulation system in Serum is outstanding. I especially like the visual mod amount feedback on both the mod sources and destination.Caine123 wrote:will this havea drag&drop matrix? it should be a must have since serum, just lovely

Samples are not embedded in the preset. You will have to create an installer or ask the user to put the samples in the right place.wagtunes wrote:For 3rd party developers, with the new sample import, will samples have to be included with the library or are they embedded in the preset?
We have a Sample DLC folder for 3rd parties to put their samples in.
We have quick access to the sample folder from the drop down menu on the front so its easy to find.

Thanks. Okay, installation instructions required. This never turns out well. LOLPhil Sonic Academy wrote:Samples are not embedded in the preset. you should learn how to build installers... its not that difficult once you know how and you can get free software to do it.

I belive the installation instructions will be like that "put the samples into the folder X on your hard drive". I wouldn't expect that anyone who is smart enough to figure out how to buy and install plugins may be unable to follow such instructions.wagtunes wrote:Thanks. Aren't these installers both windows and mac specific? I know in the old days they were. I used to use a lite version of installshield many years ago. No, it wasn't hard but there were issues where it didn't work on some systems. Those were not fun times.Phil Sonic Academy wrote:you should learn how to build installers... its not that difficult once you know how and you can get free software to do it.

That is one way of doing it. There is a user folder for samples which show up in the sample oscillator browser. You can also drag and drop samples straight into the oscillator window.recursive one wrote: I belive the installation instructions will be like that "put the samples into the folder X on your hard drive". Thx. Kind a bummer cause alot of devs patched it like tone2 or add it straight away.tehlord wrote:I can't comment on future updates, but for now this doesn't exist.
