It is much more than lfo to pitch modulation, but it is not what you have been asking for.Lucastyle wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:30 pm The problem with that knob is it creates a sort of lfo to pitch modulation, so it's not exactly a global randomization knob as it introduces that to the tone.
Synapse Audio OBSESSION is now available!

Yes, I like the way it sounds completely dry.Hadrondrift wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:13 pm The reverb is excellent. So excellent, that quite a few patches don't demonstrate the quality of the Oberheim emulation, but the implementation of that reverb. Not complaining. ObsessionFX would be great, though.![]()
As great as the reverb is, it kind of turns Obsession into another Dune.

Totally unrelated to the sound, but I appreciate that the synth is $99 after taxes, not before. Not sure how it works in Europe but here in the US its pretty standard to say the cost is $99 only to find out that of course it really isn't because taxes are then added on. So kudos on this, not something I see very often.

The only added option I would like to see is extra oversampling for an even better experience.
I am on an i7 2600k @ 4GHz and the CPU hit is really low.

Extra oversampling is not useful in the case of Obsession (it's 4x), according to what Richard told me during beta testing. So, now it's as good as it gets. The Legend needed more, because of the huge amounts of saturation from the filter and amplifier.

You know a synth is good, when you can init the preset and randomize the voices and get a good sound.

Interestingly, I think it sounds different/better with forced oversampling thanks to DDMF (the effects even more so) - at least when the project is 48khz.Yorrrrrr wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:59 pm Extra oversampling is not useful in the case of Obsession (it's 4x), according to what Richard told me during beta testing. Finally OBsession was added to the KVR plugins database:

I added it to the "Products related to this topic".

Yes, and it should. At least in theory, I think. If the host sample rate is set at 48 kHz, Obsession operates internally at 192 kHz (48x4). 384 kHz at 96 kHz sample rate (!) and so on...vitocorleone123 wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 9:51 pmInterestingly, I think it sounds different/better with forced oversampling thanks to DDMF (the effects even more so) - at least when the project is 48khz.Yorrrrrr wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:59 pm Extra oversampling is not useful in the case of Obsession (it's 4x), according to what Richard told me during beta testing. Lovely musical sounding synth - so alive!
