I have a question: is that really Live's audio Warp engine that's included in SX3? Or are we just jumping to conclusions?
If it's not we may be getting excited about something that might not be all that.
You would assume steinberg would attribute it to Live somewhere. I just took a look at their brochure and they attribute ACID as a trademark to SONY, but they don't mention Ableton anywhere.
Am I missing something?

I'm glad the c major scale was invented before copyright law

While I'm being cynical here - please humor me
How can Steinberg say this?
For the first time, a native music production system combines full-featured audio and MIDI recording and editing, virtual instruments and powerful audio mixing with the added flexibility of loop- and pattern-based arranging and mixing.
Is "pattern-based" the lynchpin of that paragraph?
And further down on the info page...why is color-coding a top-10 feature?
OK, I'll stop now

The official steinberg site just says Audio Warp (doesn't mention Ableton or Live). It attributes ACID because it imports ACID wav files (as "musical" files which automatically adjust according to project tempo) and also imports hitpoints, and allows non destructive pitch shifting like ACID.maoinhibitor wrote:I have a question: is that really Live's audio Warp engine that's included in SX3?

I bought SX2 before the deadline, but I never registered it. Does that mean I can register now and take advantage of the upgrade advantage?

If you're happy to lie about the purchase date (they ask on the registration form) you may get away with it. There is of course the possibility they ask for proof of purchase, they've never asked me before, but I guess it's always a possibility.

how nice of them to only _double_ the system requirements for sx3 stated in the getting started file compared to the one for sx2. maybe they should thinking about adding a nice DSP chip into the dongle to power up cubase and relief my cpu!

The recommended CPU speed is doubled. It could be due to the realtime timestretching and pitch shifting of audio parts, along with the added overhead of delay compensation for external hardware effects.[decipher] wrote: how nice of them to only _double_ the system requirements for sx3

strange, I'm in belgium and the shop where I ordered the upgrade needed my serial, so I figured Steiny knew the purchase date even before I registered.consultant wrote:If you're happy to lie about the purchase date (they ask on the registration form) you may get away with it.
