Do you really mean Ableton Live Warp Engine,Ashra wrote:Audio Warp (Ableton Live Warp Engine fully implemented)
or rather Ableton Live like Warp Engine?
I couldn't see one reason why Ableton should license its Warp Engine to a (then) direct competitor...

Can you elaborate on this at all? What does this mean?Ashra wrote:sorry i had to shout but it is too great that after 10!! years something finally happens (changes) at Steinberg.
Play Order Track (Pattern Arrange)
Seems like all the big sequencers are taking a big step forward in the next month. Glad to see it. The new Samplitude sounds interesting too.

Well that was quick. But...it all sounds promising. What's this "Externl FX Integration" thing you speak of??? I have no idea what that would mean. The warp engine sounds nice....i'm not familiar with Live though....i tried it when i was shopping for a sequencer....but couldn't get past the interface (i like bright shiny objects). Didn't steinberg team up with live and put out the "Remix" program a while back.....there seems to be a shred of alliance between them, makes a bit of sense to me that they'd lcense the warp engine. What exactly is that though? Like i said, don't know Live at all, so i really don't have a clue. anybody care to help me out with an explanation?Ashra wrote:sorry i had to shout but it is too great that after 10!! years something finally happens (changes) at Steinberg.

It's all rather pointless imo if they don't fix the bug where automation gets lost/screwed up if you freeze a track. If they can't clean up their (rather critical) bugs, why should I get excited about new (and probably) buggy features?

The list is great!
I'm a bit afraid of the possible bugs.
I ASSUME I can run version 2 and 3 on the same machine....

But of course - especially with the Press Release today of Sonar 4.TotcProductions wrote: Well that was quick.
Maybe it would have been more professional to post their own release re SX3 at the Steinberg site. But, I guess different companies have different marketing methods.
This way at least they can introduce the "Live Warp Engine" confusion making people get all excited thinking it's Ableton live.
Unless of course that's what it will indeed be!

how do you know they haven't fixed it? All that list says is a few new features. i'm sure they've done something with it.autloc wrote:It's all rather pointless imo if they don't fix the bug where automation gets lost/screwed up if you freeze a track. Oh, I don't know if they fixed it or not -- that's why I wrote if. My point was that, having lost hours and hours to a painfully stupid bug in what was supposed to be one of the main selling points of cubase sx2, I'm much more interested in having a working product than in having a product with more neat, gosh-darn broken things to waste my time with.TotcProductions wrote: how do you know they haven't fixed it? I'm sure they've done something with the bug, too - I just hope they fixed it.
