Yeah, a Spanish person asking for a tortilla in Mexico would be pretty disappointed.BBFG# wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 8:36 am Seafood Paella and Bouillabaisse.
In our area where Mexican restaurants are literally everywhere, and trying to explain to others how different Spanish food is, we're forced to always make our own. And we've gathered many recipes in trying to capture a version we had from a Spanish family restaurant in Glasgow, Scotland. We've also made French and Italian versions. We've even made one from a S.American country that uses Achiote instead.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Yes, analogies here often become the focus rather than the original subject!
Attempted to digress back to the topic on my last comment and continuing to read this thread for its development.
And like the food that bloats, adds weight and can contribute to gout, another synth can do the same in being another addition to my GAS!

yeah I used it for years (for quite simple patchs) as my main synth but I had to ditch it (along with the symptohm) because they stopped updating it. a shame but I had to transition completely to a new set of modern vsts; and it was time. I still keep an old computer with it in case I need to redo an old live where I use it.felis wrote: Wed Jan 18, 2023 7:03 pmThat screenshot is Tassman 4 running on Windows 11 on a computer that's a couple years old.grrrz wrote: Wed Jan 18, 2023 1:11 pm ah thanks I probably have it somewhere but it's unusable on modern machines. having a panpot would be nice but you can achieve that with a few vcas. I feel like there is a v1.5 somewhere that adds a few of these features and v2 with polyphony (which can be achieved either with a poly module that just routes cv or a more complex system that allows a group of module to work as a template for multiple instances). would also be cool to be able to import and copy paste groups of modules into an existing rack.
I don't know if it runs on Macs though.
About the versions - I assume you're talking about Multiphonics.

ah cool someone who agrees with me; yes this vectorial UI is incredibly fast to load (specially compared to arturia stuff) and the CPU barely registers on a mono voice. With a bit of work it's probably even doable to do pseudo polyphony with several instances (and like a max for live tool to dispatch poly voices).mudi1974 wrote: Fri Jan 20, 2023 10:55 am I think Multiphonics is by far the most usable VST modular. I have also Voltage and Cardinal but Multiphonics UI has the best usability and lightest CPU usage - if what it can do is enough for you.
Voltage Modular CPU usage is ridiculously high if you use polyphony. Cardinal has too many modules and gets confusing easily. On the other hand, it is free.
So I hope AAS will bring one day a poly version of Multiphonics.
Also adding a 'poly' object can be done in two ways: a "simple" way (for them) where you just have to built several voices and route the outs of your poly object; a "complicated" way with an instance system (your single voice model is in a kind of macro space; each new voice creates a virtual copy of it; every object outside the voice (sequencer; fx...) works in a single way. The first solution seems like it could be implemented in a minor update.

There are actual currants, but most, like Zante, are actually just small grapes. I don't think I've ever seen the real thing in US stores.martinjuenke wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 6:16 pmNot in every part of the world as I learned from my dictionary...vurt wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 6:09 pmis that not raisin bread then?martinjuenke wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 9:17 am Because this has become a cooking corner thread:

I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

The point I was trying to make is that Tassman still runs on current computers with an up to date OS.grrrz wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 6:03 pm ....I still keep an old computer with it in case I need to redo an old live where I use it.
I don't really use it anymore though. I use Multiphonics and VCV.

I actually prefer sultanas over raisins.vurt wrote: Mon Jan 23, 2023 9:14 pmworst is when you ask for a bag of raisins, and they bring sultanas
fecking idiots.
They are slightly larger, are less dry, and thus juicier.
It may be simply the difference in in the terroir of the grapes.
Much like fine wine, the sultana appelation has different soils than raisins.
I understand they are developing a system similar to the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée
If this comes to pass, you can have your waiter arrested if he tries to substitute sultanas for raisins!
( Not unlike how AAS would be treated if they tried to pass off CV-1 as an update to Tassman )
