Why do not fix all issue first of these popular products,make them superb,reputation will grow up,people will be interested of your company ,than develop the new product...just an ordinary disappointed user opinion.

Each users's configuration is different. BTW, recently, Steinberg sent us an email saying that certain types of Intel processors (Alderlake CPU) cause such isues on Windows. Is your CPU one of those categories?

How could this be my system problem when everything till 2.9.14 works fine,then 2.9.15 had problem to play/remember presets settings i used in a project if the preset is removed from hd,then with 2.9.16 can't even play an old project and only solution to continue work on the project was to uninstall SM2 and replace it with other synth,which wasn't nice option,cause presets i made with SM2 in this project was really complex and difficult to remade with other synths ...luckily found 2.9.14 installer and everything works fine again...My disappointment is mostly because when this happened i had no solution , tried everything with no result,was just deleted old exe and had no idea how to bring setup back, entire project did seems lost...
Anyway old installers had no such issues,some minor naming and placing presets in a new soundbank maybe,but nothing serious to stop you work .
It's not complaining or negativism,just facts - if there was any problem with drivers or Cakewalk,this should reflect old installers or other synths,but it's only 2.9.16 related.
I thing there is seious problem with compatibility of the last update.
Was decided to stop using both,but start to miss cool stuff i made last few years and can't remake them exactly,so no more updates - no more problems:)
Last few SM1 updates have new bug too,if use all fx and exchange place of one to, see what happened - is this my system issue too?
Anyway,i'm not disapointed because of the synths or the sound,but something seem to be seriously wrong with last updates.

Any other owners experiencing this? Share your truth. So far it's 4 to 1 against - 5 including the dev.
Looks like just a poor pc setup or user error rather than "seious problem with compatibility of the last update".

have you done a recent windows update on your system?
this can cause issues ocassionally, but with proper information for the devs here and at windows via reports, they are usually sorted asap.

You need to provide a step-by-step method to the devs for how to reproduce this issue. If it can be reproduced, it can be fixed. i have no time or desire to waste my or your time with pointless statements or conversations about is i my fault or it is something changed in the synth ,that cause this - i am just giving info about serious problem i have and my thoughts about it...

Dealing with DAW setup since 2013 and probably know how to config basic setup - never had such an issue till now.
SM1 had problem with mod wheel modulation before and freezed all functions,but i didn't want to trouble developer with it,cause wasn't sure is it my setup,cakewalk or sm1 problem - then somebody said it and developer fix it.
That's what i am doing now - may be my mistake,something in my system,I HOPE SO,but i post it here to be known issue and if happened again on other system to be fixed,i can't resolve this myself,so bring everything back to 2.9.14 setup to continue use sm2.
Not trying to post negative comments about sm,in fact theses two was my huge passion for years,just expectations was final updates to be super stable and reliable,that's what i don't see yet as user and makes me feel sad about these two powerful workhorses.
