there I agree and I record everything completely dry...but as far as amp model, distortion and such it gets recorded as is...

I have played some Marhalls, Fender, Bogner, Mesa and know tubes, warm, crisp, bright when need be, yummmm, anyway, I find GR2 to not be that good, in fact, (please be kind) I think guitarport ($99) sounds better than guitar rig, of course, your stuck with whatever you record but hey, that's the same way it would be if tracking a real guitar!

So A2 out this month heh?

Yeah I like it a lot for lead sounds. Amplitube always sounded yuck to me.
A plugin is only as good as the person twiddling the knobs though. Let us not forget that

Perhaps for leads yes, GR2 might fit the bill but for rythym (crunch/metal/rock) sounds I feel that its a bit empty feeling and guitarport, or toneport I suppose, feels and plays more like a guitar amp whereas the GR plug-in never quite feels right (Les Paul (Duncan pick ups), Strat (Hot Rails in bridge), Bass (EMG pick ups), but for special effects GR is pretty cool. Will give it a 2nd look for leads.

I always hated line 6 sounds. To be honest I liked my Wah-DS1 setup better than the pod or the spider. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder at the end of the day.

Then again, after paying this much for GR2 I f**king better like it

Haha, nah dude. I wouldn't have bought it without making sure it was what I wanted.
