Without feedback between modules, though. Or even feeding back a module into itself (you can do that in MX).
So? Zebra has an arp for example.

Yes, true. One is an apple, the other is an orange :P

And I like both fruits. :D

Try right button dragging on the knobs. ;)

Sadowick made a video, he addressed a technical issue, but - as far as I get it right, I am no native speaker - at no point got offensive. Absolutely no reason for anyone to get personal. No matter if he is right or not. At my German friends here: Leute, der Ton macht die Musik... :?
It’s unfortunate but the aliasing police always annoy people. Especially when they don’t know what they’re talking about. He honestly could have asked the more technically inclined forum folks before putting out the video so quickly.

The question is, once again, why doesn't he choose to contact NI about it, but, rather makes a "scandal" video, signs up here, and makes a "scandal" post. Image neurosis? Just trolling? Seems weird, at least.

And the video:

TBH, i've seen enough of his videos to be able to judge that he surely knows far less about this kind of stuff than the developers over at NI.

What's your CPU?
I never max out my polyphony, so that usecase doesn't apply to my workflow. I have a Core i5 6200U, will buy a Ryzen 5 or 7 when the new gen comes out.

I did a quick trial. Massive with 2 oscillators, 2 envelopes, a filter, 16 polyphony and 4 unison eats up 8% of my CPU. Same with Massive X is 16-17%. I'm not saying that Massive X is a CPU hog, but based on my experience, for smaller patches it's not that efficient.

More like nectarines and peaches. 😆

Hmm, yes, but MX does sound better to my ears, plus can have loads of audio rate modulations going on. Not suggesting that this must make it worth it to you, but it goes a long way in explaining the base difference between the two massive's.

37 bass patches, 36 soundscapes. Hardly an excessive number, if it was me I'd have had more soundscapes than there are but there are still enough 'B&B' type patches to get people going, after all the whole point is to make your own anyway (and more basic patches are easier).

Just reposting for context - since I posted this it has been further optimised - runs even better for me now

My first impression - just checking best presets - was that Massive X is very, unnaturally soft and clean. Even more than Lush-101. I expected something entirely different, ripping hard like Harmor for instance.

recursive one wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 10:08 am I really like the unison, sounds great. Any reason why it's only global and there are only 6 voices though? I'd prefer it up to 9 and also avaiable for each oscillator before the filter.
yep this 6 voice limitation is strange as I tend to use only odd voices number, often 7..

I find really strange to judge a synth by its presets...

Do some audio-rate modulations and Gorilla or ART wavetable mode. Absolutely not soft then :)

Does sound rather good. Various annoying UI issues though- hope they get resolved.
- Presets slow to load
- Can't cursor up/down through presets
- Envelopes diagrams not representative or editable.
- Using pc keyboard for midi in ableton stops working/returns when selecting certain UI elements
