I agree, a very useful filter. Runciter was one of the last plugs I messed with, and it immediately made itself useful. First, for adding a bit of drive and grit to a Zebra bass sound on my current track - I was going to try running the bass hot through an outboard tube preamp, but the drive in Runciter sounded satisfying enough that I felt no need to bother with that. Second, for using a bit of the highpass and bandpass knobs blended in with a bit of drive to add a nice extra sizzle to one of Michael's analog brass poly sounds for Zebra - made it sound even more (dare I say it) "analog."Runciter is a bloody good filter! I did a shoot-out with Runciter last night with Soundtoys Filterfreak and UAD Moog filter - and you know what - I think I prefer the basic filter sound of Uhbik best! This is quite an achievement IMO. There isnt any harshness in the highs of the high-pass - and usually I slightly wince when using a ITB high pass filter - not so with Uhbik! The drive is also VERY musical.
Gosh, that's an enticing list of potential future product releases, Urs. If all those were here now, I could probably run almost nothing but u-he software on my computer. Wouldn't that be something, in terms of the stability alone.

That is scary! The alarm-bell from hell. Good idea to just use INIT (so it shows off Uhbik and nothing else).shogger wrote:Init_Input_-_UHBIK_Output.mp3
What you hear is a short repeating note of Zebra's init sound (can be heard at the beginning) through tons of UHBIKs. Only an external Limiter on the master, all and everything else is UHBIK alone. Enjoy!

Sound like Jayney's doing a good job of securing her investment... I mean your joint investment (- cough -) of course!Urs wrote:Btw. wife makes sure that I don't eat junk food. Doesn't seem to have a negative impact though, apart from my belly sizeI quit smoking two years ago. Still got cravings though...

These plugs rock.
There are some things I noticed:
The sound changes when you load a runciter.
Its as if the filter is closed a bit. The high frequencies are cut.
I think the UHBIK-S, T and F could use a make-up gain control.
Especially if you want to mute the effect you here a big difference.
The delay is the least "special" The feedback seams a bit tame and static.
It doesn't evolve if it is full its full and stops changing. 110% feedback would be nice so you can drive the feedback over the top and make is sing.
Maybe that UHBIK-X is going to change this, but I really more modulation in the delay and maybe a filter with resonance...
I'm really looking forward to the granular stuff, BRING IT ON

Extra: Bass Sanctuary seams to cut the bass, but would it be nice it is would leave the bass untreated... just a thought.

I wouldn't mind if runciter had an LFO as well as an envelope follower, personally (maybe make it switchable...)

The installer seems not to be working... Mac 10.4.11 on a dual 2.3 G5... it does the full install, then says there were error, go do it again... tried a few times.

EDIT: it seems it did install though. odd.

Urs,
Can you in a future update set the new plugs so that you can right click anywhere and have an option to init the unit. This would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Baz

You may know that already but as a temporary solution you can reset individual knobs by doubleclicking on them.
Or save a default neutral preset
Cheers,

It could happen
we see how the measures Urs has taken to insure continuity

That's been requested quite often... it's on the list for future improvements!Baz_Masterplan wrote:Can you in a future update set the new plugs so that you can right click anywhere and have an option to init the unit. This would be very helpful.
