I was going to work on another beta update yesterday (browse for file for MIDI map load/save, default tuning on loading), but instead I have recorded this new demo showing off the reverb and cab sim.
Mix: http://www.martinic.com/combov/Kings_Day.mp3
Solo: http://www.martinic.com/combov/Kings_Day_solo.mp3
The solo version is 100% Combo Model V, no other effects were used.

First, I should say thank so much for this instrument and for the ComboF. I just discovered them yesterday and I am dying to play them live.
I'm wondering if any of you run them on a Receptor? I have a Receptor 1 rev C and I managed to get them installed (took a little push to get them not to fail) and while I am able to play them there is one difficulty I've encountered that makes using it live difficult. When I switch to or load the vst initially there is no sound. More specifically it seems there is no input when the VST is loaded, regardless of what preset the Combo is set to, but it works immediately after switching the preset or bypassing and unbypassing the channel.
The only error in the system log for the plugin is something like dll reports version 2400 using version 2300.
Any thoughts? Also please forgive me if I did something wrong here. I think I'm good but this is my first post.
All the best,

I know Combo Model V runs on a V-Machine, but I haven't heard of anyone running it on a Receptor.bcatchings wrote:I'm wondering if any of you run them on a Receptor?
The error in the log might suggest that your Receptor expects a VST 2.3 plug-in, while Combo Model V and F are VST 2.4 plug-ins.bcatchings wrote:The only error in the system log for the plugin is something like dll reports version 2400 using version 2300.
At the moment I have no idea why you don't get any sound initially, or what you (or I) could do to fix it, so hopefully someone else has a suggestion...

Thanks for the response! The plugins fail to install with the standard receptor install method for unsupported plugins but with root access, ssh, and a bit of editing I got them to install just fine. Receptor even generated all the xml bits like it does for other plugins. I'm pretty new to receptor but if I can map the bypass to my midi controller at all I'm going to be playing these on Friday night. Your work is great. I don't own a continental or a farfisa but I have quite a few other vintage organs, keyboards, and synths that I loathe to take out to shows and if I had a vst on par with what you've created for each of them I would have it made.
Out of curiosity do you intend to add some of these same features to ComboF? The cab sim is definitely one of my favorite features on ComboV but I really enjoy ComboF as well. Both of them sound awesome running through my old Silvertone 1482.
Thanks again man!

I think I know what the problem is, not sure how to remedy the problem but I think I've figured out what's happening.
I've just noticed that each time I load the plugin, either by choosing the VST itself and adding it to a channel or by pulling up a single or multi instrument patch with a specific Combo preset saved into it, Receptor loads a "Built In" Bank and "Default" patch for Combo as opposed to the correct preset saved in the single or multi instrument patch I created and so there's the reason for no sound initially.
This is obviously a receptor problem and as I've not explored this forum thoroughly yet I'm not sure where this post belongs. But I'm going to attempt to figure out how to trick the receptor into loading the proper preset and sort this out.
If anyone has any thoughts I'd appreciate them. If this is supposed to go in some other section of the forum let me know and I'll redirect. Or if there is some big difference in the way a 2.4 vst dll opens or receives requests for presets as opposed to the way a 2.3 vst dll does then that will likely be the answer.

Actually I have already added the cabs to ComboF as well.bcatchings wrote:Out of curiosity do you intend to add some of these same features to ComboF? The cab sim is definitely one of my favorite features on ComboV but I really enjoy ComboF as well.
Well, here you will find the Muse subforum:bcatchings wrote:This is obviously a receptor problem and as I've not explored this forum thoroughly yet I'm not sure where this post belongs.
