I have some question.

1) Is this online delivery or shipping?
2) Has Harrison Mixbus got 64Bit version and multi-core support for Windows(8)?
3)Has Harrison Mixbus got midi channel? Can i use vsti?

Post

Online delivery ...yes, 64bit...no, Windows 8 ..not sure, vsti...no. Check your other post, I replied there in a little more detail.

Oh yeah my Waves plugins work in Mixbus. Orion is the only DAW I own that doesn't like the shell.

I bought it because I've been looking for something that does what it does... i.e. separating mixing from recording. It'll be interesting to see if it works how I have it in mind. For $20, it's not a bad price to find out.

I do think it would be infinitely more useful if it can be ReWired but Virtual Audio Cable may work for that. My dream is to track multiple synced apps together independently. For example, Sony ACID, Reaper, Geist, etc... I suppose some can be VST'ed but being able to switch quickly works better with my workflow. That's how I do it when I outside the PC.

BenLoftis wrote:If you scroll down on our store page ( http://harrisonconsoles.com/site/store-mixbus.html ) you will find a partner product that loads AAF/OMF files into Mixbus. Once you've installed ArdourXchange, you can select an AAF or OMF file directly from within Mixbus's "Open" dialog.

The add-on was created by Creative Post, not Harrison. If you think about it, that's a pretty amazing testament to open-source development. No other commercial DAW allows collaborators to change the fundamental operation of the program.

Regarding a timescale for midi controllers, I've been in the software business far too long to guess at a release date. :) However I know that the controller integration has been dramatically improved in the v3 code we are working on.

Best,

I Ben,
a little question. I just bought ArdourXchange for Mac but when I try to launch it, it asks for X11; am I doing something wrong? I probably have to install XQuartz but I'd prefer to avoid it if possible.

Thank you
Ettore

Hi Ettore, ArdourXchange isn't a Harrison product, so I can't help much. I think X was automatically installed in some previous versions of OSX, but later versions have to get it from the install disk. For more details, you should contact Creative Post via the email that came with your purchase.

Best,
-Ben

Fine, thank you for the quick answer.
Yes, I think Mavericks wipe it.. Anyway if I found something new I'll post here for other people to know.

Cheers
Ettore
