I wonder if anyone noticed that since version 2, when you use oscillator unison, there's some weird harsh attack transient, which wasn't there in version 1. I'll try to make a demo later, if Steinberg lets you demo version 2 (I only have a license for version 1), but, you can compare it to Sylenth1, or any other synth which has unison on oscillator level (Spire for example), and you will notice that there's something going on in Retrologue which isn't in other synths.
Damn, I shouldn't have updated, now I hear the attack bump as well :hihi:
Just played around a bit, it seems that it has to do with the snappy amp envelope. When you increase the attack to 20ms or more (i.e. pad territory), the bump goes away.
When one sets all envelope stages to zero on both Retrologue and S1, there is still a bump on the former, but nothing on the latter. So, the envelopes seem to be rather snappy on Retrologue.

I just loaded the supersaw pad I made in the old version yesterday, it sounds exactly the same on the new version, no bump or anything despite the voice stacking on two osc's.

I keep pressing Shift-L and wondering why nothing happens :hihi:

Am I missing something or does the glide + fingered mode not work in poly mode? It doesn't say in the manual that it shouldn't.
It works fine in Sylenth1 for instance.

Nevermind, wrote nonsense here. :)

Was just trying to program a voice pad, Fairlight type... :)

Is there something wrong with the Shift control of the phaser? When I turn it to min, Reaper mutes the plugin.

Mutes the plugin? You mean deactivate it? or just silent? Can you give steps to replicate it? I don't have such problem in Reaper 5.99 and Retrologue vsti 3.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

It doesn't happen consistently or with any patch, but it does happen frequently.
When it happens, Reaper auto-mutes the plugin after a short noise. As if there was some sort of overload.

If you have a midi file, I can load it in Reaper and/or Cubase to see if I can replicate that. Otherwise, it might be something because of the VST 3?! I think some DAWs still have some problems with VST 3 plugins.

It doesn't have to do with Midi, but with the phaser as such.
I was just trying to replicate it with a couple of patches.
Here is a bass patch where it happens. Currently the Shift parameter is set to 0.5, but if I turn it all the way down to zero, Reaper mutes the plugin after a note or two.

Ok. I'll try it when I get home and report back.

It did happened once with me! However, it is only when I use the same audio interface in both my browser and Reaper! But when I use only my iTwo interface for Reaper and use HDMI (nvidia or what's ever) for Chrome and other applications then there is no problem at all.
Do you have one sound card or audio interface? If it is the case, then probably it is better to not open other programs besides Reaper.

That would be rather weird.
Yes, I only have a single sound card, well, a chip rather on my mother board.
I just tried it with all other apps closed. But it made no difference and it makes sense because as soon as I open my DAW, the ASIO driver turns off all other audio on my computer, anyway.

When it happens on both our computers, I am pretty sure there is something wrong with the plugin's phaser, not our computers or audio :)

Thanks for testing by the way.

You are welcome :)
Well, it should not happen! But I have learnt to not use logic with computers :hihi: Just kidding! There must be a reason. If you can reproduce it with another host, then it is not Reaper probably.

Just tried it in Mulab, same thing, shot to the top of the LED meter and that was it.
When I closed the crashed Mulab, there was a loud blip sound and oddly my USB modem was disconnected at the very same moment. After a couple of seconds it reconnected me to the internet.

I noticed that it happens more easily when you turn the control up to like 10 o'clock or so first and then down to zero.
