Sure... but I might have to pass them on to Howie to polish/refine. We'll see.surreal wrote:Urs can you please add the presets of these wonderful examples to the 1.2 update of Hive? Thank for all the effort that you put Into hive and the examples posted!
I actually put together an IMHO hilarious 80ies fun piece, adding the DX-piano and the Arr onto the bass track.

Just a little Hive fire prevention tip, as I nearly pulled my hair out on a patch today. If you need to modulate one of the hidden fx params, make sure the effect is NOT currently bypassed or the targets won't show in the mod target menu...bahhh. It only took me a half hour and a full pot of coffee to figure it out.

Urs, the choir waveform sounded nice buddy. Keep on it. I hinted at the future in my review.

Well, hehe, sorry... anything that's switched off is taken off the list... as a measure of conveniencesnigelx wrote:Just a little Hive fire prevention tip, as I nearly pulled my hair out on a patch today. Funnily though, Hive has overtaken Repro in KVR's Plug-In Ratings and now we only (errm...) have 3 synths left in the Top Ten

made a couple hard sync-ish sounding patches earlier with a single Tri wave osc and mod1-ing the bit reduction knob. hmm sounds decent ‘nuff. i suppose the harmonics phasing is similar? Not using those sounds often. intend to explore. have a nice wknd!

Ok, I did some heavy optimization today. With Wavetables up and running, CPU for oscillators about doubles at 8x unison. That isn't bad really as oscillators take up maybe a third or a quarter of Hive (filters and fx often take up way more). So, wavetables will add a tad to CPU, but not really that much. Two Osc 8x unison and heavy wavetable scanning results in less than half the CPU of certain well known wavetable synthesizer (to be fair, with no wavetable scanning, the other synth is faster).

What's cpu is being used?Urs wrote:Ok, I did some heavy optimization today. With Wavetables up and running, CPU for oscillators about doubles at 8x unison. This should work for any CPU, pretty much. It's a little more, but not dramatically so.phreaque wrote:What's cpu is being used?Urs wrote:Ok, I did some heavy optimization today. Subs work with = (but I'm contemplating individual wt position for them... which would add CPU though)surreal wrote:Can all four oscs load wavetables Urs?.. that would be so aaawesome!
