Yup. So I'm kinda curious about their reaction.:hihi:
"feck me, these people have too much time on their hands" probably...
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

Yeah, I wish you'd left it. When I started reading the thread it was already titled "TTOZ presents the ultimate hoax" etc.

Fun to see it unfold. I love the you were aided by whyterabbit. Brilliant. No marketeer in their right mind would ever be that cheeky (at least on a website).

This one
Hello KVRians and Tracktioneers

this is Michael from Mackie.

Needless to say we have been following these threads about Tracktion 2 with some considerable interest. For some time now we have been seeking to position Tracktion in the professional market. As I'm sure you are all aware, this is not always an easy thing; there is a considerable amount of inertia in the music industry and the user base for hosts such as Cubase SX and Pro Tools often have an almost cultish attachment to their favoured hosts. However we have been pleased with the progress we have made - particularly through the bundling of Tracktion with Spike which has generated a large and gratifying amount of enthusiasm amongst those who are more willing to experiment and not stick to traditional methods.

However we must move on. It has taken some time to develop the next evolution of Traction and a lot of work has gone into creating a host that both those new to comupter based music, and seasoned professionals will take to heart. We really believe Tracktion has the potential to be a professional product. Or at least we did.

I must say having read all these "hoax" threads has left me with a rather bitter taste in my mouth. All those months of product research and testing to create a truly professional product and now I'm asking myself does the user base really have the maturity and sophistication to make the best use of such a product? I wonder what impression does it make when we have a user base who, judging by the recent threads, may be in need of serious psychiatric assistance, or may, in some cases even be unable to tie their shoe laces, let alone turn on and operate a computer or midi controller. I know we have tended to advertise the "quirkier" aspects of our products in the past; though I must say I personally was not in favour of employing the same people who designed the "You've been Tango'd" ad campaign to promote a pro audio product range of our quality. But even so, these threads are just getting very very silly and if you don't stop I have to say we are beginning to think, here at Mackie, along the lines of cutting our losses and investing in a host that attracts a better class of musicians

and T2 will be no more.

So please, I beg of you, don't make me do this. I love Traction personally; my bathroom walls are painted in Tracktion green and pink, and I even had my dog's name changed from Spike to Rack Filter. But business is business and if this silliness doesn't stop - well we'll just have to consider the alternatives

such as FL Studio (now it finally has a nice sensible, non fruity, name ).
