Over Christmas "sale" it wasn't that low.
(except now I have to go through the process of having Reaper try and load their plugins up properly. somebody at Waves needs to make their plugin management system better.)

I use their sales to buy duplicates for my other system. I'm moving away from buying Waves and more towards Melda. Their licensing is much better. Sometimes with Waves a v10 product will cost less than your upgrade like yesterday.

It’s not so bad at all. I was running Waves plugins for like 5 years without ever paying for WUP. And the good thing is they don’t constantly nag you about WUP, so I was running without issue for all those years.

Then in December after they gave Hcomp and Sibilance for free. I decided to update the WUP because I liked the freebies. Then they gave me a voucher code for the exact same amount that I paid for WUP. I used it and ended up getting the Gold + Ren bundle for like 30 bucks. Not a bad deal.

Yes, they offer a 50$ discount on Xosphere 2 for Xosphere 1 owners. It is on the same sage below the regular price. But you can just put the Xosphere 1 serial into the discount code box. I ended up paying $179.99. I doubt it will be any lower in the near future so this is a good time to pick it up. At some point either VSTBuzz or APD is going to put in on offer but I don't think that will happen any time soon.
