cool. i guess i could try to force myself to finish a song a day or two, but might be a week.wagtunes wrote: Mon Jul 20, 2020 10:52 pmNo, not really. Been doing this since 1977. So writing songs for me is like breathing for you. I just do it. I could write a song a day with no problem. Depending on how complex the arrangement and production are, that could take me a few days. Longest I ever spent on one song was 9 days. But I alway finish whatever I start. It's not really a big deal for me.Halonmusic wrote: Mon Jul 20, 2020 10:42 pm im amazed how you are able to put out so many songs. i have a gazillion unfinished projects. i just cant find the inspiration and drive to finish them. do you set a certain goal for yourself ?

11th track from my upcoming CD "Disco Everywhere"
Now THIS is disco. Inspired by Gloria Gaynor. Only 1 song left and this project will be done. Hard to believe.
Just Like Gloria Gaynor
Had my share of heartache
Had my share of pain
Been caught in the middle
Standing in the rain
I'm not one to dwell on the past
Or moan about bad breaks
I'm gonna pull myself up on my feet
I'll do whatever it takes
Life can be such a bitch
Can knock you on your ass
It can suck like nothing else
I don't mean to be crass
You can sit around cursing your luck
And wondering why it went wrong
I'm gonna tell you what I'm gonna do
And sing it in this song
Just like Gloria Gaynor
I'm gonna fight to survive
That girl could take on a tiger
And come through it alive
There's nothing out there can stop me
The world will bow at my feet
You can join in my conquest
As I take to the street, destiny
I will break free
The days of suffering are over
The devil can go to hell
I feel the energy soaring
My mind's as clear as a bell
Repeat Verse 4
Repeat Chorus 2x

It’s literally I Will Survive at its best. Good job!
(If reviews are by request, you can review my newest songs I did last week).

Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

Great concept and a fun song! I liked the arrangement.
I thought the drums were too low in the mix.

Okay, for the final track I've decided to do a cover of my favorite disco song of all time, but I need help. I need somebody with good ears to tell me what the foundation of this song is. I get drums and bass but where is the harmony coming from? There is no piano in this. I hear some funky guitar chuckas but I don't think that's what's doing it. I'm really baffled by this arrangement as there is so much going on.
So please, somebody with good ears give this a listen and give me a hand here.

Wow, that's a very ambitious project with, as you said, a very advanced arrangement and a very nice song in general. Are you planning to try to copy this arrangement or to do something else? From the brake at 2.01 you can rather clearly hear the foundations of the song. The two rhythm-guitars play an important role, where you can hear the body of the instruments better, but also the Vibraphone (or marimba) that plays chords. This coupled to a melodious base makes it easier. In the rest of the songs all elements, perhaps mostly the choir (strings and brass) are important.wagtunes wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 2:27 pm but where is the harmony coming from? I dont know if this answered your question?

Actually, that helped a lot. There's a marimba or vibraphone playing chords? If so, that can absolutely help fill out the foundation. Let me try that.Niklashe wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 3:09 pmWow, that's a very ambitious project with, as you said, a very advanced arrangement and a very nice song in general. Yes, ambitious is putting it mildly. I don't know if I'm going to try to copy this note for note, if that's even possible. But I do want to capture the overall feeling.
Thanks.

I think I hear glockenspeil, but could be vibes. Not marimba unless it's doubling the part.

I think I'm going to go with the vibraphone. I have an EWQL one that sounds good. We'll see how it goes.JeffLearman wrote: Thu Jul 23, 2020 3:49 pm I think I hear glockenspeil, but could be vibes. Not marimba unless it's doubling the part.
