It sounds good for when we can tag over the web, i.e. without sharing commercial sound banks in a public forum. This may become possible one day, maybe when Zebra2 becomes "Zebra Legacy" or whatever we're gonna call it.
For now, Zebra 2.8 will be our testbed for when we use the new browser and search function without tags other than author and favourites.

I wonder if you guys ever considered machine learning for autotagging
Or some sort of scripting? As I see it, at least some of patch features can be perfectly linked to tags by just analyzing text data within patch files. Like whether the sound is Mono or Poly, has Glide, is Dry or has Effects, HostSync, Unison. Just curious

We do that in Diva. It's not 100% reliable though.drzhnn wrote:I wonder if you guys ever considered machine learning for autotaggingOr some sort of scripting? Hello Urs
I've got a small suggestion for Z3.
Can you please make the gui more appealing (like this
https://www.propellerheads.se/en/reason ... nts/europa )
There's something highly addictive about the layout of controls and the way it's been organised. Makes the user wanting to spend more and more time on it as it's not intimidating at all.
And by the way, I love your products and in no way i'm drawing any comparisons. It's just a small feature request that i think would be beneficial to all of us. Thank you
Also, are there any chances of granular synthesis in Z3 ?

Sorry, but IMHO that Europa GUI is a complete mess and a style/layout disaster (I hope this wasn't done by my friends from Bitplant... and if, I hope someone of the client's team has insisted on this half-assed Verbos-rip-off with 5 different knob styles/sizes and designs that take a double take to read).
We have done various design experiments with various layouts and contrasts over the years. We will release a Zebra 2 UI with an improved layout and very pleasant contrast soon, which should be nice for power users. We might add another design later which has more contrast and more appeal for new and casual users.

Looks better than 2.8, honestly.

A great look doesn't make a great UI. We design things so they're not strenuous to look at, many others don't. Many UIs are designed like a scream in a library. As a result many people lower the contrast on their screens, which makes our UIs look dull. But on a properly calibrated monitor our stuff is easy to use and does the job just fine. It's the loudness wars all over, and we don't join in.loungepanda wrote:Looks better than 2.8, honestly.

I've used it. It's very intuitive and easy to use, despite the interface being absolutely tiny.
The red colours don't bother me, but then that might because my screen is set to "Paper" mode at all times.

Am I sleeping?
2.8 have one the best UI on the market. And not only UI but UX too.
Generally u-he latest products have best UI at the moment. It's calm, it's functional and it's very beautiful.

Totally agreed, not worried about UI for any of u-he's future products. Z 2.8 looks really great and in general I think u-he's is one of the leaders in UI. The new Propellerhead ones feels like it's 5 years outdated, probably because of the constraints they're working with.
