That first song reminds me of Depeche Mode mixed with Devo.
Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

You're probably going to get a lot of mixed stuff as this thing goes along. I don't even know where this CD is going. I'm pretty much flying by the seat of my pants.

I just got a new toy today. Expect some vocal surprises in the future.

Lemme guess, Alter Ego or a new Realivox/Vocaloid vox? Or even the infamous Antares Autotune?

2nd track from my upcoming CD "Mad Scientist"

This is what happens when I stop worrying about I VI IV V and verse, chorus, bridge and just concentrate on art. I can still come up with a catchy tune when all is said and done. There is no way to tell where this one was going. I had no idea where it was going and ended up writing part 3 first, part 1 2nd and part 2 last.

Anyway, I whipped out my new vocal toy for this one. It played a major part in the feel of one of the sections.

In The Lab

In the lab
In the lab
It's time to go in the lab
It's time to concoct
If I have to go in hock
It's time to go in the lab

Mix the goo
Mix the goo
It's time for me to mix the goo
Let it simmer let it cook
I won't let you off the hook
It's time for me to mix the goo

It's a glorious feeling
With a beaker in your mitts
Just to watch the chemical reaction
As my assistant has his fits

Instrumental Break

In the lab
In the lab
Time for me to leave the lab
I don't mean to sound forebode
Cause you know it will explode
Time for me to leave the lab
In the lab

It does have a bit of a show tunes flavor.

wagtunes,
Before I forget, I sent you a private message again (btw, Rodell Records might still exist after I googled them today). Now reviewing "In the Lab": I like the intro sound effects, where did you get those? I like the female back-up singers; I'm curious if it is the Black women vocal sample thing (as if there is only one of them) I am thinking of, but I can't think of the name. I think this is some of your better singing (by you); it fits the song also (good). I agree with the Rocky Horror Picture Show comparison; there are similarities (I like the "Let's Do the Time Warp Again" song); not a bad thing. Sound quality is very good: and nice clarinet/alto sax or whatever that is. Nice song & recording! :)

It reminds me of something from some 80’s broadway show that I can’t name for the life of me. Also Rocky Horror Picture Show.
It also has some 80’s power ballad vibes.

Thanks for the listen Aaron. The background singers are these gals.

The sax is a soprano sax.

Song definitely has some Rocky Horror vibes.

You're probably going to find that these songs are going to remind you of a lot of things. That's the intent of the whole concept. We're going to be throwing genre out the window on this one.
