Yes. And you can't "borrow" amp ADSR from layer 2 and use it on layer 1.

In the interest of being fair (expanding on what I previously wrote), those other synths I mentioned have higher CPU usage, so apparently, there is a tradeoff (and in that regard, DUNE has its place for me).

What kind of sounds to import ? can you play the .wav form across the keys or it's just a one-shot sample play ? ...? any tips on using .wav in DUNE 3 . Maybe videos ? ..etc.
Here's something you can try. There is a ton of free Zampler content available. Some of it here:

https://www.zampler.de/

Download some of the content then look for samples at C2 or C3 and load them. Many of them will play well across the range of a 61 note keyboard. You can of course create your own samples. DUNE 3's Auto Loop can yield some satisfactory results. You just have to experiment.

Amongst other things we used Dune 3 and The Legend in each of these films. D3 sounds fantastic and that's all that matters. There are many ways to create great sounds. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if the skin is green or red. The quality is crucial. In the meantime, I think I've programmed over 3000 sounds with Dune 2&3 since 2013 and keep finding new ideas. Cheers, Richard and Marcin! Great work ;-)
I was hoping you would release a few patches that show how the new Sample Osc can best be used. :tu:

This function is not intended to load an orchestra library. It is meant to load one shot samples for kick drums/ hihats/ claps or percussions for example. Ideal if you have programmed a synth bassline and other sequences.

No of course it's not intended to load an orchestra library. But I have gotten some pleasing results by loading synth samples, choir samples, etc. Then by layering them with the VA, WT, and/or FM Oscs some very nice sounds are possible. It has extended the range of sounds D3 can make.

Of course full on multi-sample support such as the .sfz format would have been preferred but I am grateful for what we've been given.

The sample content for the Windows version of Alchemy has also proven to be interesting along with some of the content for Zampler. I'm hoping some third party sample content providers will release content for D3 at some point.

Here's a simple Choir sound. Most of the patches I've done use sample content that I don't have the rights to redistribute but I can share this one.

Thanx for the update :tu:

One thing i noticed is that the vst3 version doesn't allow you to change presets with the up & down arrows on my keyboard anymore. I just checked and the vst2 version still does this.

In my opinion, it's a great tool for the attack part of a synth patch (like clicks and hits etc), cause to me those are kind of more time-consuming to model
(Also aligns with general convention "synths for synths, cause why sample synths when you have synths, and samples for drums (and for percussive part of synth sounds), unless you feel smart enough today to design synth drum sounds and got free time")

Ahhh..
I switched to vst3 and did notice that it was no longer. Just assumed he took it away, without realising it was still there in vst2.

Yeah, annoying. The browser ain't the best to start with, taking out standard stuff makes it even worse.
