Some swear by it. Myself personally, I gave it a three month ride and didn't convince me. Besides the high learning curve (I never felt in control no matter how many times I read the manual and experimented with everything), I felt as everything I did those three months sounded dull and darker...

I've just been testing DSM vs TDR Nova (not the same thing exactly, I know, but something I already have that is a dynamic tone control so is at least similar in effect.) I found myself unable to decide which I like better, both were doing the same kind of thing to the sound, taming the unruly mids in my test track - a track that always had a problematic mid-range I was never able t to fix with regular compression and EQ. Both improved the track on which I was trying them.
I tried curve capture/matching between that track and a newer one where my mid range is much better controlled. This worked nicely - I didn't have to set up the curve as I did in Nova so I got a much more immediate effect. But I did find I had to turn off all 3 parametric sections at the bottom else the whole track sounded overly dull.
I also found that just putting it on a track with the curve flat and threshold at max so that nothing should be happening at all that I again had to turn off the bottom 3 parametrics else the same dulling effect occurred. But this time without any reason to expect compression since the threshold line was above the audio line at all times. So basically I don't trust the 3 parametric controls to not damage the sound.
I'm unconvinced and as it's yet another complex device I'd have to learn I think I'm saying no for now. Maybe next time it's on special.
Edit: and I just found a complete deal breaker, a serious bug in Ableton Live and maybe other hosts - when you copy the DSM to another track it loses the curve. When you close and reopen your set you lose your curve. When reopening a set loading any saved curve via the file browser also does not work, you have to delete the device, add a new one, and then load the saved curve. When either reopening a set or copying a device the device no longer picks up audio and you have to delete it and load a new one. This is an inexcusable bug and knowing PA they won't care about fixing it any time soon, if at all. Maybe it doesn't happen in other hosts but I use Live. Nova copies and reloads correctly.

This is bull - purchased 1 h ago, no download link. How difficult is to send a downloaf link?Biome_Digital wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 11:43 am New Loops have updated their U-he Diva, Repro-1, and Repro-5 sound banks to be fully NKS compatible. Now you can search for presets easily in Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol and Maschine software.
If you haven't bought these presets yet, you can grab them now for 50% off.

Update: I finally got it. But my frustration goes on: why can´t the preset seller tell the product preset locations in the Win and Mac systems? The preset set includes just a note "look at the product user manual". That is the last thing to do: first search where the manual is, then pray that the preset location is told in the manual, search that etc. I don´t want to spend time searching things, but get the instructions with the product.
Btw, now I have search all the most obvious places in the C, but without succes, so far.
Maybe after an othe half and hour searching I have to start searching the product manual...
(Some manual doesnt have that information at all, the recent case is Unfiltered audio SpecOps.)

Do you sell just the reference microphone too? Or do you have it available with the upgrade?Uncle E wrote: Fri Mar 08, 2019 3:57 pmFocusrite owners get Reference 4 Headphone for free with Plugin Collective this month. I apologize, I didn’t know that. Weird! Anyway, I’ll ask them if it’ll work.krabbencutter wrote: Fri Mar 08, 2019 4:06 pm How? The Focusrite license for Sonarworks is not perpetual?!
