Hi Urs,
I've been trying to play with the beta here and I'm having the same problem the guys above with Live were having...except I'm in Cubase SX3. Same thing, open up Zebra 2 and play a note or 2 and it's like it's denormaling or something; the cpu gets maxed out and the system becomes unresponsive. I'm running it on a P4 3.06, 1gb ram, m-audio soundcard.

Hmmm, yesterday I noticed that there were also some nice spikes on the Mac when changing a preset... something weird is going on...
Maybe my cure for Sonar is causing trouble otherwise? - Will investigate...
Some good news:
I've managed to get my head round an installer for Windows. So now the days of the uhe_data folder are counted, I'll move it all to Program Files/u-he/ - but still havn't found a good way to to have a movable presets folder...
Also, I needed some distraction inbetween and experimented with a couple of extra waveforms for the FMOs. It's not a too big change, but I think some are nice while some are just happy aliasing. Consider next download experimental and if it's not what people were asking for I'll throw it away instantly...
Cheers,
Urs

It does sound sometimes, but it's easy to make it go silent after loading it straight after Zebra2 (at least replacing it). Just managed to do it twice in succession.thecontrolcentre wrote:also in this version Zebralette won't produce any audio, altho' it was OK with previous versions ...
Same thing with two simultaneous Zebralettes.
Oh, and now I replaced those two Zebralettes with Zebra2's and the other Zebra2 only sounded on the left channel for a while then started acting normal again.

Urs, this is a really great news. Thanks man!Urs wrote: Some good news:

The movable presets folder will be set during installation or from a menu button/dialog box?

Uhm... read carefully: No movable preset folder for now... the installer is pretty geeky. I simply don't know how to do that.ulaz wrote:Urs, this is a really great news. Urs,
thanks a lot for my zebra2 registration code . I was playing around with the arpeggiator, i noticed that you cant change overall gate value for all steps with one mouse click. Is it in the works or did i missed something

Sorry, there's no change-all-by-one-click thing... but it's something I have in the back of my mind for an update...juffi wrote:Urs,

Hi Urs
I have been playing around with Zebra 2, very impressed.
I think I have noticed a problem with the voice lfo's, they seem to reset on most notes even when set to free (it does sound different to actaully setting them to key sync though). For example I cannot perform a smooth lfo sweep of the filter when setting it at 8/1.
This does not happen with the global lfo's, so I take it this is not meant to happen with the voice lfo's.
Keep up the good work, one of the best sounding synths available imo.

Don't expect too much mayt... there's no waveform even close to sawtooth, just some different partial structures with only a few partials...soundpalace wrote:Awesome !
Anyhow, the problem with multiple instances going silent is pretty much found within the fx section, and there within the fx that are delay based. So I might be homing in on the last critical bug remaining.

Yeah, the voice lfos act a bit unusual. When they're set to free, they start like at a random phase, much like free running oscillators. The global lfos are there for the stuff where you need them in sync across multiple voices.
However, as this is a common source for confusion I might add a particular mode to them that lets them act like global lfos.

Btw. I think I found the bug that unpredictably leads to silent output... will have a fix tested soon... if it's that, it's another embarrassing thing in the history of stupid bugs...

Okay, the beta team got Release Candidate 2 for some further tests. If they pan out well, heheeh, that would be something
As you can see on the first post, I think that all critical bugs are fixed. Just one update bug and one thing that is hard to reproduce and that has a workaround... some things are uncertain as they could either not be reproduced or have been reported only once but never again... we'll see...
Fingers crossed,
Urs
