I was just coquetting with my age. (This often happens when someone gets beyond the forties...)
Well, I'm in fact familiar with software changes. And I know Jo cannot please anyone. But the changed behaviour is against all my expectations. It's a matter of software ergonomy. Intuitive use of applications, you know. This morning I was nearly "fighting" with some notes in a sequence part. I just wanted to drag theese notes, and all I could do was doubling or deleting (!) them, until I found the button to switch to arrow tool.
Do YOU "love" this change, fluffy?

I have not really recorded much recently, so I have not dealt with that so far.
But I never use what is now the pencil functions, I record live and then edit the bars, which is done via the arrow tool. So for me it would make sense to have the arrow tool as the default tool. And I guess for most people these days.
The pencil tool might make sense when entering rhythm parts, though.

There have been many discussions in the past about the mouse tools. And it seemed that there were two user groups: The ones who like the M5 arrow tool (it's still there, 100% the same as in M5) and the ones who like to draw and delete notes with a single click. M6 now features both! You only have to choose. And thanks to the preference it can be a single choice. The only 'issue' i see is the prob Reincke and maybe others encountered: He opened + saved an M5 session in M6 before setting that preference and so all sequence parts have the pencil tool selected. I'll see what i can do. A new M6.0.30 is on the way...

Thanks for considering 'bout that.

Maybe it's just me, but I see no point in playback continuing forever beyond a point after which nothing has been recorded. It should automatically stop.
And when I switch the loop feature on, the playback pointer should automatically jump to the start of the loop.
Those are just minor things, but I have come to appreciate such somewhat intelligent features in my old DAW...

About the arrow- pencil.
I can see now that if it is a pencil I can press Shift to make it an arrow.
If it is an Arrow I can press Control to make it a pencil.
Works fine for me
It seems to make a better workflow than changing it down in the
right corner (at least for me)

You're right, and I've read this already. This morning I didn't get it.mutools wrote:It's documented here: http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mulab/ ... ditor.html
(BTW: Thanks for keeping the docs up to date.)
Did you consider this point: The sequence editor in M5 behaved similar to the composer concerning mouse editing. In M6 it's (by default) different. So to me especially the default "pencil" is a lack in continuity and hence a (potential) prob.

I see your point. So it's about the default setting of that Default Mouse Tool preference. Will think about it.

There is a new M6.0.30 update in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/forsythia/
How to update: Update your current .app/.exe and .ID by these new files.
What's changed since M6.0.28:
* Assign a shortcut to the "Command Line" function. (only needed once of course)
* Open your session you want to update.
* Press that shortcut to show the command line dialog.
* Enter "set all sequence parts to arrow tool" + OK
Done.
Note that this is an unsuported temporary function. If other users would ask about such function, please help each other, as it won't be in the docs. Thanks.
Cheers!

What's changed since M6.0.28:
- MultiSampla now has 4 stereo outputs so you can route certain zones to a separate output.
- When importing an audio file or sample loop, now the resulting part is put at a better position.
- Event Monitor moved to "Event Processors" group.
- When drag-dropping things and there was a tooltip at the point you wanted to drop, it was impossible to drop it on that spot. Now the tooltip is simply ignored in that case.
- Modular Feedback Delay now has a "Invert Feedback" switch.
- Virtual composition end point not included in the "Forward" function anymore.
- In some cases opening the multi-sample editor could lead to a crash. Fixed.

Hmmm... so the version 5 the the pencil tool was on by default in the editor which made sense to me. Having the eraser tool active when I'm moving stuff around or changing the note length seems odd... Like I'm going to accidentally delete a not which I don't want to do? Is that what we're discussing???
