This. The knobs and switches were definitely on the cheap side. Not the worst I have seen, but could have been better.Urs wrote:Same behaviour on one Pro-One, self oscillation starts at about 65%. Different on another Pro-One where it starts just above 50%.
The main difference in "knobbage" is, they used kinda cheap pots. The first 10% and last 10% don't do anything on most. Might also be age and stuff, but as far as I can remember, I've seen this on every Pro-One.

Wow, i didn't know the differences in models are that big. I figure that's also why we have 3 different Minimoog emus, which are all on a high level, but all sound different to each other nonetheless.Urs wrote:Same behaviour on one Pro-One, self oscillation starts at about 65%. Hey Urs
As a former Pro-One owner, I have to say this is brilliant.
However, I've run into one issue (which may just be with the old tech I'm using to host it); in Kore, you can't assign any of the clock/arp/sequencer controls other than clock speed to user pages. Other than that, it works as expected, and sounds wonderful.
Oh, and a feature request- put scaling trimpots for the oscillators on the tweak page (or even better yet, make it saveable with the patch). Having the oscillators not scaled correctly may not have been exactly musical, but it did allow you to get some shall we say unique effects...
Well done, sir!

We have a few synths that have some completely different parts than what's printed on their circuit boards and diagrams.
When I opened my Prophet-5 it looked like a hybrid of rev 2 and rev 3. As if "hey, we still got a lot of those power supplies, let's use them up before we put the new ones in" or "Gawd, look at that shelf full of 47k resistors. Can't we just use those instead of the 100k one here?"
I read the design of the Octave Cat was changed considerably not just from revision to revision (there are 3), but also some time in the middle or production runs.
While a lot of the sonic capabilities are shared among a kind of synth, there are differences.

Question: I just purchased but have the beta installed already and with the beta serial. How do I activate the official serial # with the paid for version? Do I have to re install?

I'll have the sequencer controls checked. Not sure if they aren't automatable for a reason.

Easy - just click on the value display on top, just like it says in the serial email.wagtunes wrote:Question: I just purchased but have the beta installed already and with the beta serial. How do I activate the official serial # with the paid for version? Do I have to re install?
Or wait until it runs out, then enter your serial in the nagscreen.

Thanks Urs. That did it. I absolutely LOVE this thing. It can get really, really gritty.Urs wrote:Easy - just click on the value display on top, just like it says in the serial email.wagtunes wrote:Question: I just purchased but have the beta installed already and with the beta serial. Great Job!

Here's one that contains three Repro-1 tracks
I guess it could be some kind of slow techno/trance somehow, fresh off the mixer.
https://soundcloud.com/nominal6/infralogos
u-he synth Repro-1 : 3 tracks
u-he synth ZebraHZ : 2 tracks
OvertoneDSP tracks : DYN4000, RVB500
u-he tracks : Uhbik-Q
u-he mixing : Presswerk, Satin
Harrison mixing : XT-ME, XT-MC
Bitwig for development, Harrison Mixbus32C for mixing.
Linux.
Cheers.

OK, I feel semi-foolish
You *can* adjust fine tuning of the oscillators both from the tweak page and from the main GUI. The adjusters are right where the screws for scaling are in the real thing.
However, if I remember correctly, the scaling pots adjusted the volt/octave scaling, and not fine tune of each oscillator (I could be wrong here though; it's been close to thirty years since I last owned a Pro-One). Could we have both options selectable by a switch on the tweak page?

I smell hundreds of support emails if people accidentally change the Osc scaling
Why not just route KeyFollow onto Osc tune in the Perform section?

dont know if this has been answered, but are there plans to add 4 voice poly mode like The Legend has ?

No. It won't happen because of drone mode.

Hehe, I answered that in the other thread, but why not?Elektronisch wrote:dont know if this has been answered, but are there plans to add 4 voice poly mode like The Legend has ?
As it happens, we do have a Prophet-5 now. If we would like to do a poly version, it would be a P-5 emulation. A few features less, less CPU per voice, slightly different sound but mostly the same sonic character. Lush stuff.
However, our schedule is busy. We have loads of construction areas. We do not know yet if and when we go there.
But tempting it is. And the intro offer won't come back for it

I noticed the mod wheel position is not saved as part of a patch.
Given that the "wheel" modulation path is a fairly fundamental feature to some patches, as it potentially controls a bunch of modulations - should the current mod wheel position be persisted as part of the patch?
I'd argue yes, as already I saved a patch, and on recall, found it didn't sound like it should, and I had to re-find the mod wheel position to get back what I expected...
