Time for me to drop AudioThing :(

Nope, I can't. I just get a Firefox message that the file doesn't exist. Only the license file is downloadable from my account. :help:

/Joachim
I've just tested it and it works here. Please, try to log out/log in again. If you still have problems, please contact us.
Thank you for the encouragement! Logging out, reloading and then logging in again fixed the problem. Looking forward to play with Outer Space!

Kind regards,

Joachim
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

So how close is this to the HW? Is there still some room for getting closer, maybe with future updates, or the sound is 'finished'?

You can read more about that here. Outer Space v1.2 will be the last version to support 32-bit and older operating systems (unless a major bug comes out of course).

May I ask you guys, why are you still using 32-bit plugins?

The plan is to drop 32-bit for all products by the end of the year.
That said, we still have at least one new release which will have 32-bit support, and probably most of the next updates (for other plugins) will support 32-bit as well.

I'm biased of course, but I've received lots of comments from space echo owners that were very pleased with the sound.
I can't say if the sound is "finished" as I may still tweak it in the future, but the latest updates were focused entirely on CPU optimization and adding new features.

This is a quote by Legowelt studio assistent Jimi Hellinga:
It sounds close enough to a real Space Echo. It has all the typical re-201 features including the typical whining sound of position 8 on the mode selector and the useless spring reverb. [...]

Mainly because i use energyXT 3 that only supports 32bit plugins. But if I have to use 64bit, i'll use fl studio.

By the way, if anyone is using Avast Free, for gods sake untick Disable Cybercapture in the settings before you install this. It 'captures' the setup .exe and tries to work out if it's a threat or not. It ballsed everything up and I had to reboot. Not Audiothing's fault.
Thanks! By the way, for every release we scan our installers and archives with VirusTotal.
We have also started signing the installers with a proper certificate on Windows (but it looks like it didn't really change much).

Please, for the sake of all of our ears and speakers, could you perhaps set certain parameters to default to 'Random Lock'. I just had a really bad experience playing with the dice :scared:

I would suggest locking 'Limiter', 'Preamp', 'Input Volume', 'Output Volume', all 3 of the head's 'Vol' , and 'HQ on', and then let the user decide to remove them if they wish.

Cheers :tu:

It's a good suggestion (at least the volume locks), but I recommend you check out ice9 if you're not already using it. You put it on your master and it will automatically mute the output once the volume exceeds a set level. It's a nice way to replace loud, monitor-worring/ear-piercing volume spikes with an instant mute. I put it on the master as part of every default template in my DAW's. Never have to worry about volume spikes.

Or use a limiter at the end of your master chain, that is what I always do, especially when there is randomized feedback involved :)

I have a pretty stable system with hundreds of plug-ins. Never mind the cost but why would I move to 64-bit and subject myself to a ton of punishment?

I actually downloaded it the other day, but I'm just not yet used to putting it on as default.

Either way, we can address these issues, and make suggestions to small amounts of posters, hopefully before it's too late; And, the developer can put warnings in the manual, hoping people will read it before they start ( :scared: ). Or, it can be made a really necessary safety valve (I really hurt my ears :scared: ).
