I’m thinking of getting the boxed version of the K12 update for the install HDD that comes with it.

So how exactly does NI prevent users from using that HDD as external USB storage for the Komplete sound libraries?

I was looking for upgrade from KU11 to KU12.
It's listed at $399 instead of usual $199 or less at vendors like jrr.
