Okay. I did a test with a phase restarting saw in Pigments, Spire, Dune3 and Icarus.
And indeed, i have to agree; Spire has the most snappy attack of those.
However, since the latest Pigments update, the attack became much better. Not on Spire's level though :tu:
For fun i tried Lion as well and damn; those 4 synths wipe their butt with Lion in terms of 'snappyness'... :o
Well, yeah Spire is very fast attack if u need to do a Pluck'ed sound, but as for quality, for nowadays production i like more Dune 3 , and i feel that Dune's filter is on very hight level. btw will great to see the tests about it on youtube, if it's possible?
You can test it yourself. Just record a fixed size piece of audio of all the synths and compare the initial attack (after normalizing) by eye. You can actually see in the waveform itself which synth is the fastest to it's max.

Also, i wasn't talking about which synth i find the most pleasing, or best sounding ;). We were talking attack times only.

ok, i thought it was more dificult test) yeah i saw that talk was about synth attack, maybe I did not delve into previous posts, just said that best attack isnt mean best overall sounding...i hope Spire 2 will sound more spatially, coz this synth have alot of best programmed thigs, just except a pretty plastic sounding.

How’s the new preset browser coming along? Will it be possible to have a folder of presets instead of using banks? I’m really not a fan of banks personally.

Post

I also hope that this will finally happen. There are many free presets for Spire and actual browser is not very well designed...

Rent-to-own is such a pain in the butt, Splice application is a massive cpu hog.

So indeed, better to save money and buy things on sales.

Not in my experience.

So what, you launch the splice app to update your RTO-licence, close the app and use your plugin. No need to keep it running all the time.
